Or is this like asking if a wild bear poops in the woods?

I used to get to southern Alberta as often as possible in the spring and summer as the gophers were thick as flies here in south Texas. 22LR seemed to be the hot setup, but, I would like to try the new 17 MkII.

Is it possible to get into Alberta with a Ruger 10/22? It used to be simple, but, then the rules changed and I haven't tried is since.

I haven't hunted them in Southern Alberta, but I know Captain2k has. I know in South Saskatchewan they can be think in areas, in fact even further North in the central regions I have had days were we went through a few hundred rounds a person for an afternoon.

It is probably easier for you to bring a rifle up here, than for me to bring one down there. Have a look at the Canadian Firearms Website (link (http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca) and it might be able to help you through the process.

Oh, the 10//2 works great for them, though I have moved to the .17HMR with a high power scope (furthest confirmed kill for me so far is 230yrds). So the M2 should be nasty to them as well.

Okay Captain... I'm jealous. You like to fly, shoot gophers, and live at the home of Black Velvet Canadian Whiskey.... nice life.
