I was wondering if anyone knows of any 12 ga manufacturers who make the 12 ga in youth for my gf. she can handle the recoil of a 12 ga but all of the guns we've looked at so far are too long for her.

i can assume, bad thing to do, that your lady friend is fully grown. in that case take her and the firearm to a good gunsmith and get the stock cut shorter. also insure she takes her hunting garb along and gets fitted with that on.

she'll love that gun once the modifications are made and she doesn't have to hang on like a drunk cowboy on a bronc.

Beretta makes the 391 Urika auto in a shortened stock version for smaller people, women in particular. I believe it is called the RL and the SL, and they are only available on the target 391's. I do not know what your price range is, but Beretta can be a little pricey. If you are lucky, you might be able to find one on the used gun rack.

There are several stocks better than the youth versions. The factory mossberg 835 tactical turkey is a great one, it has an AR15 like adjustable stock that fits anyone, anytime. The best thing to do is get a used 870 or mossberg and buy the Knoxx specops stock. It takes the recoil out, plus like the 835, it`s got 4 inches of adjustment with a click of the button, the best stock out there IMO.
