What happened to Rem ADL?

I noticed the ADL line of rifles was missing from the Rem website. Have they discontinued this model?

Not really... They just took the gun and put plastic stocks on them instead of wood.

Skeet's post is partially correct. Remington's new Model 700 SPS is sort of a replacement for the ADL but it has some new features -- among them a hinged floorplate, which the ADL did not have.

Several M700 ADL's are still available at our Wally-worlds that still sell guns, here in WA state. $379 + tax isn't a bad price for 'just an action' if that's what a person wants.

I own a bunch of rifles, but an ADL out of the box is the most accurate rifle I have owned.

I see that Remington came out with the Rem CDL. I guess it was time to upgrade their models.

Dont really care what happened to them. I have been a loyal Remington shooter for years. Never owned anything but, other than one Ruger 77. That is until the last few years.

The last two Remingtons I bought new had to have major work. Actually, the last three, but I had planned it on one anyway. Bolt faces werent even square, let alone the usualy crappy trigger and other little things. My gunsmith says it used to be the exception that he had to true an action on a new Remington. Now its the norm. Big green has fallen and probably wont get up. Thing is, most folks dont know it. They buy one, piss around a little about how they cant find a load it likes and settle for a average or below shooter.

CZ is the way to go, IMO. About the same money and no problems with my limited experience, or the experiences of anyone else I have talked to.

I have to agree with Andy L. I was a dedicated Remington man, having a half dozen from the 70's through 90's, all excelent shooters, but I finally swore off Big Green. My last one, a BDL in .25-06 was terribly inaccurate, this after having it glass bedded,
barrel floated and trigger worked on. Remington has become totally obsessed with the bottom line and it shows. I guess bean counters don't make good weapons. Really it's unfortunate, but it won't happen again. Best wishes.

I have mostly had Remingtons for many years. The last two (280 and 300 Win Mag)I bought were the less expensive variety with the plastic stocks. They had rough bores. I used a bullet kit with impregnated lapping compound. Now the rifles work fine. They shoot under a minute of angle. Both are close to .5 minutes of angle with various hunting loads and they clean easily, even after quite a few shots.
