I'm keeping my new XD-40 loaded with a full mag and a cable-type lock (through the barrel and out the ejection port). In this configuration, the firing pin will locked back with the spring compressed. How long can I leave it like this and still expect it to fire reliably?

GoodOlBoy,

Pardon me. Yes, I just reread your paper on "The Coefficent of Linear Expansion and the Effects of Global Warming On Gun Springs."

I must agree your prediction of 94 years does, in fact, check out. Be well.
