I got a boat load of e-mails saying my inbox was full here, Do you know how much I love you guys for that...anyway the long and short of it, is my best friend opened her office in New York we have flown there three times getting all in order, and you might wanna know she is doing great>>. I am so proud of her...Huckleberry had a tumor on his eye and yesterday we had it removed and sent for pathology, in about 5 days we will know whats up for that, he is recuperating and he and I have been in the bed since yesterday, tonight he got his bryers ice cream and doesnt seem to be missing a beat...even on pain meds...if any of you know me like I think you know me...Huck is my baby and the only thing next to my son that rates in Love and devotion to me...ya wanna hear something funny? the vet asked how old is he? I said 6-7 at most... He looked at all the info and said Val Huck is nine years old....I think you could have knocked me over, I just dont want anything to happen to this dog, I am refusing to acknowledge his age, how screwed up is that??? Oh what else, got a ten footer Sat night, well a suppose to be ten footer, you would have loved this, shallow water, I am talkin 3 feet at best, we came up on this boy, and he started porposing thru the water cause he couldnt dive, I threw and missed, shame on me, that doesnt happen often, fish were jumping out of the water in front of him, what a ruckus he made, well I threw the one harpoon and as most of you know by this expression I am now standing there with my d*** in my hand, he turns around and comes right back at me, been there done that, but I am still too stupid and full of adrenaline to stand back, he takes a full three feet leap out of the water straight at me his midsection is the only thing that stops him against the side of the boat, and what does Valigator do? I stick my right foot out to kick him back in the water,,,and do it!!!!I dont know, that could have been the dumbest thing a person could do, but as it turned out it was pretty smart...cause he was so pissed he came back at me again and my son threw another harpoon in him, he wiggled around and went for the run, I got the other harpoon I missed reload ed and hit him again, now he just ran, finally wore him out got him close enough to the boat to see two feet of his tail was missing,,,that means alot when your going for length...well you guys I'll admit too but normally I wouldnt, I said let him loose, I dont want him, my son said Mom you cant do this to him and let him loose, thats when my morals an ethics of a hunter had to come into play, so i shut up....we brought him in and thats my story...

Hey pretty lady

Was this supposed to be another typical day at the ranch story? I got about drowned in the coffee when i read you kicked the gator out of the boat. Far out. What would Curly and Moe do?

I'm afraid I'd have to pass on that kind of hunting. I ain't as fast as I usta was.

I'm still laughing. Thanks. :D

Hey Val!,
I'm glad to hear that Your Lil' Huckleberry is back home & back under your loving care......There are few things that are more down-right pure, than a Dogs love of it's family! I truly hope the little guy will get better soon.

I'd love to see video of some of your adventures sometime, You sure do put a lot of time and effort into your gator hunting! WOW! ;)

Take Care!,
Tall Shadow

Thanks guys I appreciate your good thoughts, he is running around here now like he never missed a beat, but I am still worried about the pathology report, the vet said that he might have to remove the third lid, the one that protects him from the brush and briars ...but if thats gonna save his life ok with me, but it does leave a little room for thought as to where I am gonna hunt this year, and if the area has been burned or not...I have hunted in some pretty thick stuff in the past and I dont want to put him on the dirt and worry about that thru the entire hunt...I am sure you all know what I mean..Billy, what would Curly and Moe do? thats funny because if someone was filming that, I am sure thats what would come to mind....going out again Sat night and I have quite a few tags to fill, my son will be with me which is great, we have taught him to be the next "gator hunter" and always at some point brute strength is called apon....we know where there is a 12+ footer, I want him and want him bad, so wish us luck.....
