I have a blued Ruger MK II. I'm thinking about having it coated/ or coating it myself. I have painted some older/cheaper guns before with good results. But I'd like to enhance the value of the rifle not lower the value. Names of products/gun smiths/etc. would be real helpful.

Sorry I cannot see how painting a rifle can increase it's value :( the same applies to powder coating. Unless of course you are talking about an Enfield N04 which was painted often with Suncorite so that would be OK. But a Ruger painted?  :(
To me it just lost any value it had except for parts.

I have a project 1911 handgun. Im going to have a Robar finnish put on it. This finish has better rust preventoin, than Parkerized finnish. I dont know if this will increase the value. Its just a more durable finnish than blue.
Hope this helps http://www.robarguns.com/

I have a Remington model 700 in .350 mag that is coated with Robar NP-3 coating and I can attest to the quality of the work and the finish as both being first class all the way

I am planning on putting on a teflon finish on action parts, perhaps on a revolver if that works out. I bought the stuff from Brownells. It needs to be baked cured.
