Anyone have any experience or thoughts on these firearms? They seem pretty "plane Jane" as far as traditional rifles go, but I plan on using it for hunting, not displaying on a wall somewhere....I see that the flinter comes in .54 cal.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I know nothing about the performance of the Blue Ridge guns but for about the same dollars you could get a proven Lyman Great Plains rifle in .54.
Looks a lot nicer than the BR rifles.
If you look around, you can find one at comparable cost:

Mr. 16 gauge,
I have no experience with the Cabela's Blue Ridge rifles. I did look up the rifles in the catalog and see they run about $489.99 for the flinter that is similiar, in appearance, to a Pennsylvania Rifle.
For less money, I would opt for the Cabela's Traditional Hawken Rifle; the .54 flinter runs $389.99. I have one of these and it shoots better than I can hold and the sights are adjustable for elevation and windage. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input guys....I already have a .54 Hawken percussion and was kinda looking for a Pennsylvania style long rifle (flintlock). Cabela's had these "blue ridge" rifles on sale, but a little more research shows that they are made with a 1:48 inch twist rifling, and I am looking for a ball shooter (1:66 or so).
