Dear Allen,
The internal sight for an XD-45 should hit the streets in late January.
As to green, it won't be for a while. Until the industry comes up with a laser diode in green the power consumption won't allow for one to go in a guide rod.
Currently an IR laser is passed through crystals to make a laser that appears green.
This is a very inefficient and relatively fragile process. Sooner or later, a manufacturer of laser diodes will crack the code.
In the mean time, we all wait anxiously.
Best regards,
Ed

Hi Ed, thank you for the very prompt rely. :)
Could you give me an idea of how many cycles can be expected for the life of that spring?
My primary use of a laser is for CCW. I like the idea of a laser used as a deterrent factor to prevent the escalation of force in stopping a threat.
thanks again,
Allen

Dear Allen,
Typically, we recommend that recoil springs be changed every 4-5000 rounds with factory ammunition.
We sell replacement parts for all our products and the cost usually runs between $12-15.00 for a replacement spring.
No price has been set for the XD-45 yet.
Best regards,
Ed

:) That is reasonable.
On the XD forum a member posted that certain springs had to be replaced at an earlier interval for the XD-series.
Thanks for the clarification.
Have a Merry Christmas.

Allen,
It's always better to check the manual of the specific unit. The 3 and 4 inch XD models do recommend a 2500 round interval. In this particular case it is probably due to the intensity of the rounds fired in relatively light weight packages. The 5 inch models suggest a 5000 round interval.
