Looking to chat about boars

Hi, I'm a novice here too.
Know nothin' abt boars & boar hunt in Australia but can tell U a lot abt this type of hunt in my country. I do have experience in all types of russian boar hutnting - from ambush & sneakin' up, on the paths & baths, in fields and swamps, etc. My favorite is hunting with laika dogs that can keep a mature boar standing in bushes untill the hunter comes up for a secure shot.

Your chat reminds me of a fella who's name is Yuri from Russia. He has a small black terrier type dog that he carried on his back and put down the hole for what we call Badgers. He followed the fight from above. Sooner or later the little dog would drag the badger out of the hole. It was pretty amazing.

He also used that kind of dog on boars. He had a head mount of a boar that must have weighed 450 pounds.

I met and talked with him at a Catahoula hog dog trial in Texas.

Hello Condor & Husky, & welcome to HC. There are two main types of hunting that I do here in Germany, from the high seat at night and on driven hunts. Both have their good and bad points, but I enjoy them both. If you have any particulars, I'd be happy to give my point of view. And those terriers, they are tough critters, when a pack of them is used they are serious! Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Pigs are found threw out Australia but they do differ depending on where they are. Our Northern Territory has the some of the biggest pigs in the country, mainly because the Territory is so big and vast that some pigs never see a human in their life time, there fore they have a less chance of being hunted. They also have no known preditors (except the occasional croc) to hunt them where in Europe and North America they have to contend with everything from wolf packs to mountain lions and bears.
Our pigs live in all areas from swamps and flood plains to mountains and the high country. Pigs in the high country tend to grow large as well, more muscle than fat.
We also have whot we call "razorbacks", thy have a streak of hair that stands up on their backs.
