Writers Wanted

Hey guys,
For those of you who don't know me, my name is David. I'm not around much, as I'm currently in the middle of my sophomore year of college. I just finished up an 18 hour semester, so this Christmas break is a nice change in pace. :)

Anyway...
I am the owner & developer of a website that has been around for about a year. The goal of this website is to provide an easy way for people to search for hunting resources (like guides, outfitters, plantations, etc...). Ever since starting it, I have continued to think about ways to enhance, improve and add services.

I would like to add a section to the website of well written articles on things related to hunting. These would mostly be informative articles, and examples could include land development, choosing the right (insert your hunting source here - i.e. "outfitter"), etc...

And so, I am looking for people interested in contributing. As this is still a new website, and because I'm in college, I can't afford to pay anything. However, what I am willing to do is provide a brief bio page for my writers with a link to their own website.

Rudy, do you have any writer's guidelines? Length of article desired? Format? Pictures?

I'm still in the brain storming stage right now.

I do know that I would like all of my articles to be embedded into my site design. Therefore, if the article was sent to me in a Word Document, I would still just copy and paste the text into my template, and create a new page for it right on my site.

As for pictures, pictures would be great. They add color, and I'm sure would help make articles more interesting. Of course they would have to be relevant to the article. I would also probably ask the writer to try & choose pictures that would not clash with the design of the website.

While I would probably accept a few single articles, I would really like to find writers willing to contribute something about once a month ... all of the articles would stay on the site for an indefinite amount of time, but I'd like to be able to add new ones every now and then.

I forgot to mention another category that I would love to have in my articles - true (exciting) hunting stories! They can be informative, humorous, interesting, or whatever. But I know there are many stories out there that many hunters alike would have a good time reading.

Rudy I will consider your offer. I have had several short stories published, and am still an avid writer (although for the life of me I cannot seem to finish a novel)

Anyway I will see what the sight looks like, etc before submitting anything. I could most likely find a way to submit an article or more a month if prodded to do so.

Me, too. Like GOB, I've had a few things published, no short stories or novels, but essays, papers, that sort of thing. I'll check out your website and see.

If you are thinking comedy, get a hold of earschplitenloudenboomer. He's a forum member. I just wish he'd write more stuff. He's hilarious.

LILRED is a great writer also. And don't misjudge her either. She is not what she appears to be sometimes. Shes witty and humerous. Under that exterior is a good brain and a lady. Don't let the sheep clothing fool you. And she has control of the two languages, Southern and English. I just wish she had an older sister, but she keeps avoiding me. :rolleyes:

I don't know if the sheep clothing analogy is really appropriate for Lilred because the saying is that she is a "wolf in sheep's clothing" which would mean that even though she appears to be nice on the outside, she could have you for dinner. LOL Then again, maybe it does fit. Lilred is the sweetest person in the world, but don't you dare block the isle at Wal-Mart or call her maam. LOL

You caught my drift perfectly. I certainly wouldn't want to tick her off and be locked in a phone booth with her. She'd stomp me into billyburger.

That reminds me of the time my 120# wife threw a 350 Honda across the patio when it fell, he tried to climb it, on my son.

I started calling her SIR after that display. i never seen her angry, she was the type that just shut up and seethed. to get me to fight takes a lot of needling. so we got along fine. My kids after they were grown once asked me, "did you and mom ever argue".

Answer:NOPE.

I gotta remember about the 'mam and LILRED. Up here it's courtesy to call any lady 'mam, regardless of age differences.
