I was letting dogs out bout 0430 this morning and heard a howl that I haven't heard sense a Bitterroot hunt.....not being a wildlife biologist....I don't want to upset DOW.......so, I won't use the W word. Had one run over by Idaho Springs bout 2 years ago.
Thats about 16 miles west of me......as they are pack animals?
Once you've heard one, there is no sound quite like it. Kinda interesting they have moved into this area.

In a few years you won't think it is interesting. The W's have really decimated the elk and moose herds near Yellowstone. Talked to police chief in Lander who told me the darn things are down past there and moving south and west...and east. Well the people who live here will start rebelling against the USFWS and start shooting them. I have one living on the ridge behind the house. Think he ate my mostly tame little whitetail buck...at least he has disappeared. The little bugger really liked corn....as do the pheasants

I hate to say I predicted Colorado would be next. Once wolves get a foothold in your ecosystem things won't be the same.
Where are the folks who said they'd stay in Yellowstone ?
