Nope, but we sure tried for a January groundhog.
Today started out exceptionally balmy and our locale was predicted to reach a high of 66. That was supposed to break a record set many moons ago. Didn't quite make it there.
Was even going to take the foxpro and shaggie suits for some calling and then the clouds and wind kicked in.
Rocky, a friend and I went and checked out the pig farm, no joy.
Then we ended up across from the grassy knoll and only saw a few grey tree rats.
Ended up letting Matt shoot the Contender 223 at a water bottle for a couple of shots.
He is just getting into groundhoggin' and never saw a TC before. Should have seen his eyes when I handed it to him to hunt with. :D

I don't think it snows in this part of Pa any more. :)

Muslim Appreciation Day at the pig farm, huh? Bummer.

I was gonna reply with...60s? Oh man, like, what a downer, man.

But half these youngsters wouldn't get it.

Hi skb2706, I wouldn't mind a little snow, thanks for the kind offer. :)
A skinny started out as being a springtime groundhog who looks a bit on the famished side from sleeping all winter.
But, I apply the term to all groundhogs these days since I can't hit them very well. :D
Btw, I'm not Skinny.
Or is that skinny? ;)

I live on the front range of CO. Since Dec. 20th we have had 53" of snow and are supposed to get pounded again on Friday. Like I said you can have all you want.

We don't have many groundhogs that I am aware of but we have marmots that look the same.

You send me sunshine and a couple "skinnys"...I'll send you snow and all the prairie dogs you can stand..deal?

You'll run outta fun real quick with a Hornet. You need somethin with a bit more range.
Regardless...you still want the snow/prairie dogs ?

I got several thousand acres of private land prairie dogs most of which is currently covered with several feet of snow. So you may have to bring a shovel if you want to come get your own.
