With our new, Democrat-controlled Congress, what do you think that will mean for firearms owners? Are they going to try and implement a new Brady Bill? I haven't heard much about it, but if we elect a Democratic president, I think we may all be in trouble.

I tend to agree with wrenchman, but I also think they have too many other pressing issues in front of them that they may not get around to it for a while. I will say this though, if they get us out of the war at the approval of the American people (good luck), we will have a Democrat for president next time around and they will be able to do whatever they want. We are by no means out of the wood as far as gun control.

:( Personally my feeling here are. We will have a depocrate president next time, this election says that most people do not believe the the republicans have done a decent job. What with Iraq, loss of jobs to China, Mexico, etc. and a lot of them with the medias help blaim the sitting president for it all. Iraq, Afganastan needed done at that time, now it is time to get it cleaned up and get out, not expand as what we are hearing. Jobs- My personal take on that is simply more and more corporations are looking at giving stock holder, board of directors (mainly) large dividends and bonuses. Posabley labor unions have hurt us here, by wanting higher pay while making it hard to terminate employes that barely meet expectations. To many tenured employees feel that they have done their time and it is time for newer workers to carry them.
Now for the brady bunch. Yes when there is a depocrate in office we will see, Hillory, and the rest stepping up with more and more gun laws, ultimetly trying to get to confiscation. The shame of it is all you have to do is look at Irag, Afganastan, etc and see how hard it is to dominate a country where every man is armed even with the best trained forces in the world.

So far nothing bad has happened to bring it to the forfront. Let someone take a shot at some Pol and see how quick it rises to the top. Like most there are too many pressing issues and for now gun control isn't one of them.

I think that we Hunters/Shooters will pay dearly for our inaction....by letting the Liberals gain control of the house & senate again, Our inaction has set a precedent.....That the constant "Bad Mouthing" and "Bashing" that has been done by the media & the liberals has paid off in the opinions of the "Sheeple".... and because of it, cost us an election/control.
The next time the liberals push for "Gun Control"....It will be an all inclusive, with sweeping bans, and NO expiration date.
We as firearm enthusiasts, will ALL lose, Our children will lose, and every future generation will lose.
And the inmates will be free to run the asylum...unchecked...unremovable.......Forever!
I fear for My country's future. :(

Its coming, no doubt.
We didnt let anything happen. What happened has been happening for decades. Too many urban people dont hunt and generations have grown up without a weapon in their hands. They dont know any better. They know uncle sam will take care of the bad guy and dont know the joy of hunting at all. It got lost along the way. It didnt happen just this last November. I can promise you my kids are growing up the same way I grew up with a gun in their hands. And, Ive incorporated a neighbor kid that otherwise would have never been exposed and hes thrilled with his new hobby. His dad is even going to buy him a gun.
Too little too late Im afraid. Just because they didnt do it in the first hundred hours dont mean its not coming. I dont think it will be an all at once thing either. They will continue chipping away until they got us just where they want us and then we will be forced to conform to laws much like Canada. Then on to GB, Europe and Austrailia.
We will be registering and satisfying liberals to why we need each weapon and waiting for their approval or denial. No handguns period. Then, have to ask permission to purchase ammo and get a purchase order and give them inventory when they ask.
Its coming.
Ive been using the long winter nights for years loading ammo for a couple of rifles and pistols. Maybe, just maybe, I can hide a couple of each for emergencies. At least Ill have something to shoot out of them.
I had a conversation with a fella from England not long ago about Sierra bullets. He said he was out of a certain bullet and couldnt get any more. I offered to buy a box and ship them to him. He said no way. If he got caught, the firearms officer would take away his PRIVLEGE forever.
Its coming.

Andy,
We DID let it happen..........
There are OVER 10Million gun owners in America!
If just 1/3 of us would have voted for gun supporting people in this past election (Or in any election), We wouldn't be in this situation.
I've said it before, and I'm still saying it.
We are Our own worst enemy....and We will be our own downfall.
Our (As responsible gun owners) inaction, will see to this outcome.

Well, I visit three boards regular. All have discussion on politics and all are hunting boards. Each board only has one liberal idiot, that I know of, that shoots themselves in the foot. You know, like Purebredredneck.
I think most gun owners and hunters voted the right way.
Your absolutely correct that we all need to band together and vote the right way. But, this all started long ago with not taking kids hunting and shooting.
Too many city dwellers. Mention gun and the vast majority think of some homey with a 9 poppin away at their kid. Not their kid grinnin from ear to ear holding a squirrel by the tail and a 22lr in his hand.
Thats the root of the problem.

Sorry to say this but there are too many gun owners that will ALWAYS vote their pocketbook rather than their constitutional rights. Do I support all that has gone on in this Iraq thing...no.. but I feel it was necessary to be done. But for political expediency they did it wrong again. Sad to say but the only way to win ANY war is to be nastier than the other guy. And our liberal press and political hacks will not allow that. I guess I am about as liberal as Genghis Khan but The average union worker in this country is voting himself out of a job and out of his firearms by supporting these liberal hacks. It is truly unbelievable to me!!

I think skeet is closer to the correct awnser than most of us know. There are many firearms owners out there that vote pocket book or the way that the union says. Pay close attention to those that have union stickers on thier cars and trucks. Most push the libs. If you want my opinion the unions and their wants is one of the reasons that jobs are going to Mexicao and overseas. Harder workers, less time lost due to takeing time off sick when not, Fewer paid benefits, lots less spent on insurance for workers, vacations, etc, etc.
Hunting itself has lost out several ways, split homes, fathers with daughters that they feel they do not want to take hunting, and do not want to leave with a baby sitter. Single mothers that do not hunt or have the time to hunt on weekends even if they are in favor of it. Schools that push anti hunting agenda's. Bambi, Thumper, Miss Mouse, etc, have feelings, you hurt thier feelings if you hunt them. All Schools have been infiltrated by peta. Believe it.
War- You can not fight a war and win it if you monitor everything that you do. You need to be meaner that the enimie. Just look at the rules that we follow with terrorist prisoners. Geneva convention my foot. Do they honor the Geneva convention rules. Yeah right. I will make it easier for you if you find one of these that does or did say so. WW11- Japenees, Korea- China- North Korea, Nam- China- North Vietnam, Iraq- Iraqies.

I was reading on another site where the poster was watching C-span or some such. Pelosi stated that if they did not start pushing for gun control and get a law quickly pased that she would be very disappointed. let's disappoint that battleaxe.

Gun Shows and Firearm Storage Measures on Anti-Gun Legislative Agenda in Washington State!
Wednesday, January 10, 2007
In a nod towards the wishes of Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, a handful of anti-gun measures are slated to come before the 2007/2008 Washington Legislature as the session kicks off this week. Perhaps the most dangerous is House Bill 1026, a measure aimed directly at private firearm sales, which would mandate that all firearms sold at gun shows be transferred through a federally licensed dealer, thereby imposing dealer restrictions on private individuals who are not dealers.
House Bill 1014 imposes strict penalties should an individual be found guilty of “unsafe storage of a firearm” under the definition of “reckless endangerment.” This measure singles out the storage of firearms for criminalization rather than directing attention towards educating children on the issue of firearms safety.
These bills have been recycled from sessions past, and thanks to the support of NRA members in Washington, have been consistently beaten back. However, this legislative year they have a chance of passage due to the change in political make-up of the Legislature from the 2006 election cycle.
It is vital that NRA members keep up the pressure and communicate with their legislators in opposition to HB 1026 and HB 1014. For a full listing of names and contact information, please log onto the Legislative website at http://www.wa.gov/ or call the toll free hotline at (800) 562-6000.
Thank you!
If you do not wan this. Join the NRA and JOIN the FIGHT. If you do not fight you have nothing to complian about exept yourself.
