Rabbits on Five stand ,You have to hit them hard!

Heres a couple of pictures of a Rabbit target that was missed at 25 yards on the ground . I watched this target go and after we were done went and picked it up The guy that shot at this was using a skeet choke and 1 oz of #8 shot , three bb hits aint gonna git er done! Tough little bunnies:D

I ALWAYS shoot rabbits with 7 1/2's at 1200 fps and I rarely use that load for anything but 50 yard shots on flying clays.

Choke wise, I use IC for the close rabbits and modified for the longer rabbits or the rabbits that are going away or angling away. Those are some of the toughest clays to break. They have to be made that way so they don't break on the ground.

Ain't bunnies fun.....

We now have a double bunnie station setup on the range. First rabbit is a rocket and the following bushy tail just barely makes it half way across the opening between bushes, before it rolls into a turn to the left. It is a 10 shot station from a 20 foot elevated shooting platform, on an enbankment. The rabbits runs on uneven ground so the rocket jumps into the air at different points, never the same place. There are 3 true pairs.

We are going to have a charity shoot on saturday so we will see how the folks like the wabbits.

I shoot Rabbit (clay) with 28grm 7.5`s out of my benelli nova with terror .675 (extra full) that dust em :D

That sounds like one heck of a station you have there. Definitely not for the beginner shooter.

I think an extra full would dust about any rabbit because they are usually thrown at a decently close range. I cannot remember the last time I used an extra full choke to shoot clays. Ah, it just came to me. It was at a sporting clays tournament where they had a side game set up. They were throwing three pairs of minis straight out over water and they were descending toward the water as they were going out. When I came up to the station and paid my $5, the guy was telling me about how 5 guys had already shot 5 out of 6, so I would be included in the shootoff if I broke 5. I proceeded to shoot and broke all 6, to which I heard him say "Interesting." I turned around and asked him what happens with the shootout if I break all 6? He laughed and said there wasn't one anymore and that I was the only one to shoot 6. That stayed that way all day. My buddy and I shot a 48 out of 50 on a flurry game with me dropping the two, and we had to sit through tons and tons of people trying to break more. I would have felt bad if we lost since I dropped both targets. Ended up getting second place in the tournament because my first lost bird came before the winners. They didn't like me at this tournament, but we all had a great time.

Okay, that ended up going off on a tangent, but it was such a good memory that I decided to relive it by typing it. My apologies.

As I said before Fabs, You is an ok shot for a city guy. I really have shot with Fabs and he is a pretty good sporting shooter. He can get a little tight at times but he does ok. His dad really is a pretty good shooter too. Nice man. Fabs was ok till he got married. Now all he does is WORK like his beautiful wife tells him to. How much longer till the young'un Fabs??:D

Oh I know I am a little different than most..but I will use Skeet or improved cylinder on rabbits with 7 1/2s usually. Rabbits aren't usually a long range proposition. And I am a little quick on the trigger!

Yeah, you are definitely faster on the trigger than I am. I tried it your way the last time we shot together, after you "talked" me into it, and the result was "loss, loss." Amazing how at the end you had me by two birds. LOL

The baby is due in a month and a half, but I just found out that she could come in three weeks from now and still be considered full term.

My life has already changed and she hasn't even been born yet. I am going to Lamaze classes for the next two Saturdays, and attended one last Saturday. I went to interview physicians today. Worked on the "baby" room this past weekend too, and that is almost done. I've been looking into prepaid tuition and 529 plans. I'm also looking into new firearms to keep the varmints (i.e., boyfriends) away. Everybody tells me that my life is going to change, but my life is always changing. It changed when I started college, when I graduated college, when I started law school, when I graduated law school, when I left the firm, when I started my own practice, when I got bought this townhouse, when I got married, and now when I am going to be a dad. I am sure there are a lot of other times my life has changed, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Oh yeah, my life changed when I got a dog. Change is good and bad, but it is what you make of it. I intend to make the most of being a father.
