Just didn't like the looks of the matte factory oil finish so I used gloss Tru-Oil I think it came out allright.:)

That is definitely a nice finish on that gun. How long does it take and how hard is it to do something like that?
Nice finish 6.5, a lot of patience and work in that stick of wood. Sure makes it shine. I have used tru-oil in the past, and I used steel wool between a dozen or so coats also. Lately tho, I've been using a German stock oil as most of mine are satin and I like the satin finish better - it keeps the wood protected without looking like a varnish or plastic coat, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Thanks Dom and Fabs, Fabs it takes about a month and a half if you let it dry long enough between coats. You sand lightly between coats till the woodgrain is filled and very smooth then steel wool for the last couple of coats . Takes a lot of time and patience I let it dry 4 days between coats keeping room temp above 70 degrees. Good thing about it is if you scratch it its easy to repair and touch up.:)
