Post your Pics!

Hunting is all over in my parts and we won't see Tuna till June and Rockfish start May 1 in our local waters. Our weather is warming up so in the meantime, it's Toy Time!

Here's my new vintage scoot. A 1983 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk. I almost bought one when they were brand new in 83 but was talked out of it by Mom, I guess. I did aquire one during my college days and though the wife and I enjoyed riding occassionally, I sold it for some stupid reason. That was 17 years ago and I regretted it the day it drove out of my site. they just don't build this style of bike anymore and I've wanted one ever since.

On a Wednesday evening a couple weeks ago, I had no major inclination to own a motorcycle. Come Thursday morning I was the owner of the one in this photo! She's 24 years old and had less than 10,000 miles on her. She sat in a garage for 11 years then ridden for maybe 2, then sat again for the last 2. I can't takes my eyes off her!

Nice looking bike!

One of the sadist times in my life, are the days that followed my sale of my last working road bike. I watch longingly as bikes drive by these days.

But then, I'm always brought back to reality.....

Around here (Metro Detroit area) I don't trust the idiots out driving on the roads now.......And I'm in a Chevy Silverado extended cab pickup! They try to run me off the road on a weekly basis......I'd be dead 10 times over on ANY bike....

I will be on a bike (bikes) again someday.....after the kids are out on their own (not too far off), and I get out of this god forsaken state....and move out west somewhere
..........and win the lottery
....and marry a super model
....and........ ;)

A guy can dream can't he???

Have fun, Be careful of the idiots!

Metro Detroit???

You're a smart man, TS!! If I were in a Metro area, I don't think I'd consider a bike either.

Fortunately here on the Central Coast of California I live in a bikers Mecca. You still have to keep your gaurd up but it's a great place to have a scoot. I'm 500 yards from the infamous Hwy 1 Pacific Coast Highway which runs along the ocean through God's Country which is just an awesome ride plus the multitude of backcountry hills, twists, and turns. My wife is even loving it again! She called me during her lunch today and wants to go on a ride when she gets home! ;)

I just got home an hour ago from picking up another identical type bike that a guy was customizing. He was 80% done and had to quit so I bought the nearly assembled bike for $300 bucks! The polished aluminum work was worth 3 times that alone so now I have a parts bike to keep this vintage sweety of mine purring for years to come.

Man, that old bike is clean! Very nice.

This thread brings back a lot of fond memories of riding with the old gang back in the day. We were hardcore, man. Real trouble makers. Yikes!

Very clean looking scoot, TD:D
I always liked those Nighthawks.
Maybe someday I can ride west and you can show me the highway tour. We'll be oue own little "Wild Hogs" gang. You in a pink tu-tu and me, hmmm I'll be Travolta or Allen.

Anyways, here is a picture of mine. This will be the thrid year I've had her. I could never imagine how much I'd enjoy riding this thing. In the last two seasons, I've already put over 10,000 miles on her.
Maybe we need to organize a HuntChat Biker Rally:p

BTW: She's a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic

I've had a few and currently looking for another one. Can't justify not having one with gas prices being what they are lately.:D ;) Or that's my justification for wanting another one. LOL

Nice bike Tree Doc, very sharp. Mine isn't bad, I'm like you, I like certain styles which you just don't see nowadays. I picked this Magna up a couple years ago, like you, always wanted one. Back in '83 I wanted to buy one, but they didn't have what I wanted in stock so I ended up with a Suzuki GS650GLX, which I still have, tho it's been in storage for like 20 years.

Anyway, here's an '84 Honda V45 Magna, which I run around on during the summer, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Tell me about idiots!!!

I drive a highway tractor pulling super b's......and I still get numbnuts that think they can push me off the road in their little Ford Fiestas!!!

Unreal the times I have had to smoke on the brakes as people pull out right in front of me........when fully loaded my unit weighs around 70,000kg.......I cant stop on a dime!!! Also keep that in mind if you decide to pull out in front of a semi, then want to turn right away!!!
