Birds have been carrying on here in PA. I listen to them each morning if it isn't raining or snowing! Me and the Huntchat Prostaff are heading to Southern IL on Thursday to hunt on Kevin Hammell's property.

I'm sure you'll be hearing some tales by this time next week ;)

I'm all fired up and ready to go. Gotta make a few calls tonight and finish my packing since I'll be out of town on business the next couple days, but I'm anxious to get on the road and try out this new area! The weather forecast looks good...much better than previous years of rainy weekends...I'm sure we'll be blessed with some kind of rain though.

Hunted this morning- opening day in Maine and did something I have never done before- shot a bearded hen! She had a 5 1/2 inch beard and weighs 16 pounds! I was confused when she came in because her head looked like a hen but I could see the beard as clear as day so I shot her! You will not hear me complain- a bird is a bird and I will take a clean kill on any bird any day! It is also the first bird I have shot with my new Nova and must say I am impressed with that gun!
