Went to Tulsa Gun Show the first weekend of April. On the way we stopped at Blue Ridge in Littlerock to shoot sporting clays. Nice folks and a nice range. The range was about 5 miles off I-40, easy to get to and well maintained. You now must call to shoot as they have put up a gate with a combination.

First time we went on the Tulsa trip and stopped to shoot. 5 of us shot a round in 2 hours and everyone felt the stop was well worth the money and time.

Just returned from the Birmingham gun show. We shot Tannehill on Friday, on the way up to B"ham. Nice folks, had a good time. Elevated traps, last two stations are pretty deceptive.

On Sunday, on the way home, stopped and shot at Lower Wetumpka outside of Montgomery. Very good range and nice folks. Tough course in the setting sun, targets hard to see, but we had a good time. Elevated traps and shooting stands.

I am recovering from having my left shoulder rebuilt (3 severed tendons) so I am not shooting to par and also must use a 20ga. with light loads. But I managed a 79 on Friday and a 74 on Sunday. I was happy.

Any day of shooting is a good day. Sorry to hear about the shoulder, but glad to hear you are back shooting.

I travelled a little over 2 hours to shoot a tournament with a friend of mine, and made a couple more friends while I was there. I won the B class shoot with a 40, and me and another gentleman won the flurry shoot which got me back to even for the day money wise. Ended up 10 boxes of shells down though.

Shot the flurry with my dad, and we didn't do so well. Went from 45 out of 50 down to the mid 30's on our third attempt. When we got back to his place, he told my mom that I was embarrassed to shoot with him because he did so poorly. Honestly, I wasn't embarrassed for him, but thought that he was embarrassed for himself. Amazing how the roles are now reversed. I used to be embarrassed as a kid whenever I didn't do well in front of my dad. I'm going to have to talk to him about this tomorrow.

Fabs,
Just be glad you can shoot with him. It will not be too long when shooting with your dad will be just a memory and you will wish it could be done again.

I plan on taking my son to Argentina in July if he can break away from his job long enough for the plane ride from Japan and the shoot. I figure it will be well worth the money.

Thanks for the well wishes.
