Lakefield .22 semi-auto???

Hello, I recently inheireted a bunch of .22's and I have a question about one of them-it is a lakefield mark 3 autoloader-this gun has a very unique stock that I have never seen before-It looks like a normal rifle with a typical wodden stock, however, you can fold the front part of the stock down to make a pistol grip or mono-pod type of thing. Have you ever run into this type of stock? Is it factory or aftermarket? Also I have an old anchutz? not sure of spelling...22 bolt action-any idea of value on either of these guns? I can not find anything at all on the lakefield or the anchutz. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to HC. I'm not up on a lot of weapons, have heard of lakefield, maybe in the old days JC Penney or Western Auto had them in catalogs for sale is what I'm thinking. Anyway, it's Anschuetz, a well respected and quality German arm, you can read up on them at link below, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Was a name given to a group of firearms that were made for one of the mass merchandisers (Montgomery Ward in this case??) and was probably made either by Mossberg(they had one like this that the forend tip folded down on) or Savage Stevens. I just bought a Savage M-87 Deluxe in as new condition that was marked Montgomery Ward. Receiver was even dovetailed for a scope and most Savage 87"s weren't dovetailed. If it is in nice condition it'll probably be a nice plinking rifle. Be fun to shoot any way:D :D

I could not find anything on a mod 3. Mod. 1 and 11 are blot guns and they had a mod. 64B that was a semi- auto. They make no mention of the flod down forearm. Mossburg used to make a semi-auto with the fold dowm forearm, but off hand that`s the only one I can rember. Lakefield arms were made in Canada but were bought out by Savage Arms in 1994 and marked Savage after that. The gun is not a high dollar gun and worth no more than $ 150 in new condition and $75 to $ 100 in above average condition. As for the Anschutz, and not knowing the model, all I can say is that they are know for quality and any beat-up but still shootable Anschutz is worth $150.
