A German shop has this (in.30-30) for 400 Euros, but I am not exactly sure what the 30 AS is for a Marlin, should I seek it out, all I know are the 1894 and 336 styles.

Guidance please:)

Believe it was just a cheaper md. 336. Stock is a hardwood, not walnut, finish might not be as good. But it is a 336.

Popplecop has it...
The 30AS is the 336 in cheap clothes:D
The stock is usually stained beech, and the 30AS is usually available in only the more common lever action calibers.
The 30AS is the model the big box stores advertise and sell cheap every fall.
Mechanically, it's a 336.

I can always re-stock it using Boyds, but is the system sound? FYI: 400 Euros (which I could talk him down a bit) is very cheap for a firearm here in Germany!

Is it a cheaper version, or a cheaper immitation. Last thing I need or want is a Remington 710 type weapon:eek:

Cheaper VERSION. Mechanically, it's a 336 through and through.
