I just listened to this and cannot even believe what I am hearing. Not only that, but I read a Maryland case on explosives last night that was utterly nuts. These things leave me wondering what law makers are actually doing when they are making laws.

On top of that, I just got a case where a man has been in jail since May 8, 2007, with a August 19, 2007 trial date for driving without a license. The entire thing is a misdemeanor and the guy only has a DUI on his record prior to this. Essentially, he will be spending 3 1/2 months in jail before he even gets to trial. I've seen 3rd time DUI offenders get less time than that. I am really starting to wonder about our system of laws and justice. What ever happened to common sense? Oh yeah, I did write something about that a while ago about how it has passed away.

you just have to be kidding....Anyone even messing with this bill should be kicked right out the door....ousted by the seat of their pants all the way down the steps....who put this all together and presented it in the first place????? They should be the first to get kicked out of office....just like anyone that swore to uphold the constitution of the United States when getting into office and then after they are in, try to change it....they should just be kicked right out the door on their a??......grrrrrr

Just in case you all were not aware, President Bush is one of the most vocal supporters of this bill, along with Senator Ted Kennedy. Shameless pandering for campaign contributions from big business and for the Hispanic vote make for truly strange political bedfellows.

Why would Bush be looking for campaign funding or votes since this is his last term as President. What he should be doing is the right thing, and not signing this bill. I cannot believe that this thing was even written. What the heck is this country coming to?

I think we should rename our courts The Sideshow Judicial System of the Insane. We've allowed our lawmakers to run a clown show for far too long. Our founding Fathers are spinning in their grave.

Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1787 that the tree of liberty must be nourished with the blood of patriots and tyrants. As I don't advocate open revolution we must resolve this system run amuck at the ballot box.
