Any body heard from MD lately? Sure hope he's not in the midlle of the giant weinie roast they are having out there.
I was watching a piece on the news and how people who live out there are stopped by the greenies from chopping down trees and clearing ground brush from around their homes.
The lady they were interviewing showed how she had cleared an area around her home. Her and her families home was saved because she did so.
The greenies are gonna be on her like white on rice.
Best wishes, Bill

I'm still here!! I'm about 65-70 miles from Lake Tahoe in the Reno/Sparks area. The fire was 45% contained yesterday (6/26).
The fire crews set a back fire that got out of control because of the wind that came up in the afternoon and they lost their 45% containment. I haven't listen to the news today (6/27) but the last I heard that 2,000 people are displaced, somewhere between 200-250 structures lost (many well over 1 million $). My son is a Reno firefighter but hasn't been called into action yet.
After I listen to the news tonight I'll give you an update.

Hey pardner
Glad to hear you are not in that mess. Fire scares the heck out of me.
I am sacred to death to be in confined places to this day. We had an APU on the Aircraft blow it's cork one night. I still won't go on elevators and I haven't flown since then. Except to get back home.
Anyhoo, glad to hear you are ok. Thats a relief.
Best wishes, Bill

Update!
3,100 acres burned. 229 homes lost. 55% contained. Big problem tomorrow (6/28) is wind. Forcast is 25-35 mph, if it hits 40 mph firefighters will loose it. Big problem is that the fire is "crowning". Means that the fire is burning the tops of the pines and jumping from tree top to tree top. Firefighters cannot fight this. It's not a ground fire. If the winds hit again, this will be a wild fire. The fire is in California but there are plenty of Nevada firefighters participating.
