Specifically, my monitor. When my girlfriend moved in with me she brought her big-screen TV so I took my little LCD TV and hooked it up to my computer. It works great except when I try and watch videos. I've tried WMP, Real and Divx and none of them work. I have sound but no video. I've tried updating my drivers and looking for codecs but no luck. Can anyone help with this. I'd like to keep my 26" monitor instead of 19". Any help is appreciated.

Tater, there's a free media player available fron Videolan that is simple, but plays just about anything. You might try that.
The other media player I know of is Quicktime.
If those 2 won't play your stuff, the problem is probably something with drivers or something, and I'm lost there.:(

Nope, no dice. It's gotta be a problem with the settings or the drivers but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Tater if you think back a few years, remember when we all had to use conveters of one type or another to do our computers on TV even if it had a monitor mode?

Your hitting the same thing. It _may_ need a converter, or you may have to use it in AUXilary mode, like when you hookup your vcr.

other than that, no ideas here.

Would the type of cable make a difference? Right now I'm just hooked up with the standard monitor cable; would it help if I hooked up an SVGA or other type of cable?
