I have a question for anyone who may have the answer. I am curious if you can attach a scope to a Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt. The Vaquero only has a rail/blade style sight system. I was just curious if it can be drilled for scope mounts or not.

Info please....

Check out www.jackweigand.com. If anyone makes a mount for it, they would. I had my Redhawk drilled and tapped by my gunsmith so we could fit a Weigand mount on it, I just don't know how much "meat" you have to work with on a Vaquero.

Any gun smith worth his salt can put a mount on for you, but I would buy a Red Hawk befor I would screw up any single action Ruger.

Try finding a Redhawk in .45 LC. I've never figured out why Ruger quit making them. My best guess is people were hot rodding the loads and Ruger got cold feet. When I compare my Super Blackhawk in .44 mag. to my Redhawk in .44 Mag., the Blackhawk looks down right puny.
The .45 loads I run through my Ruger Bisley are stout to say the least.

It's his shooter, let him do as he pleases. Different strokes fer different folks. I like chocolate chips, my wife doesn't.

I had a buddy who scoped a 3 screw .44 Mag Ruger

What the hey, I advised him as to it's worth and he still did it, it was his to do with as he pleased.
