HC is still nice

From time to time I visit other hunting sites to see how their views on our way of life is.............MEAN PEOPLE!

The others are venomous. I replied to a question for a good low light/darkness scope..............I suggested the #1 post.....you think I would have recomended to elect Hillary and disolve the NRA! Because I discouraged the illuminated reticles...Whew!


But since I never had that problem here, even when I brain-farted about the ocular thing (by writing objective multiple times), no one called me a dunb *&%$#@ even though it is obvious.................

We are glad to have you. I have never met anyone who is mistake free. Sometimes keyboards don't allow us to put down what we really meant to say. Been there done that.

Each forum does have a different personality. Some are very nice and welcoming and others are not.

The ones that get me the most are the forums where there's a central clique that makes most of the posts and they won't talk to anyone but each other. What's the sense of posting on an open forum if you're going to ignore everyone but your "friends"?

I was called a loony braindead know-nothing recently when I suggested that Ackley Improved cartridges achieve sometimes dramatic velocity increase by means of higher working pressures. The other posters neither know what pressures they're loading to, nor care - but I clearly am an ignorant boob for suggesting they might be a tad high.

I agree with you guys. It is tough to find boards that are well moderated and where flame wars are not tolerated. I think I have been on this board for 7+ years and I love it.

The only other board I visit is a cycling board, and they are pretty good about flame wars on that board too.

Sometimes, it is all too easy for people to call others names over the internet because they have no idea who the other person is.

I go to quite a few boards, and oh boy, the grief there is at some of them....hardly makes the time worth it....I love this board so much :) :D:D

Yea, I like HC because if you do need an answer to a question, there is someone that does know the correct answer....even if that means a bunch of different ones...one of them is the correct one...I am open for different opinions...I call them food for thought...then I sort them out and dag darn if I don't get a good reply....but....if you hadn't been bitten here at least once with some strong words...you just have not posted enough...lmao....sooner or later it will be your turn in the barrel but when all is said and done ....you will find out it is hard to put expressions into words and can get taken the wrong way...I know I have a few times in the past....I think that mostly reflects on the mood of the person reading a post....because and I am a firm believer in these words... 'You only see what you look for in a person'......if you want to find fault...you will...good, you will...so watch what you look for because it is a reflection of you.....HC has a good bunch of people and I enjoy reading what they have to say.....

I'm a member of a few other boards, but like you all have so eloquently stated, this is still the best as far as I'm concerned. The one thing that I've noticed is that the higher the membership numbers, usually the worse the bickering becomes. Not so here. I always enjoy civil discussions on here without explosions resulting from conflicting thoughts. Kudos to all, and a thanks to our benevolent sponsers, as well as the owner Petey!

Ya, I'll agree pretty good bunch of guys and gals here overall! Also been there done that, some just like to aggravate you on purpose or bait you on, no biggee, like man, absolutely no horizons, entire life spent inside 30 miles -- there's a whole world out there and you see it in the net, my way is the only way, etc. There's more than one way to skin a cat, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

I go to two other boards and dont post much if any becouse of rude posts.
If you go to these boards you can understand how the antis divide us just looking at some of the boards it is easy and hunters let it happen.

Yep I have been on alot of other boards over time and most of them are just mean and ignorant. Thats why HC is my home away from home.
