I don't know Dan. I've been up bow hunting for elk and had 4 to 5 inches of snow on the ground by the 10 th of September. Maybe a tad early, don't know what your elevation is, but it usually doesn't stay very long.

I haven't been up bow hunting for elk for about three years. The guy I used to hunt with moved to Nebraska and since I broke my leg while hunting birds by myself a few years ago, I figured that maybe it wasn't a good idea to be up there by myself. We did see a lot of elk every year we went up though. I did shoot two while hunting up there and had lots of oppurtunities. Would come back with a deer almost every year. It was lots of fun.:D
It was mid sixties here yesterday and no rain but we got rain off and on the three days prior. We needed that.:)

Here in Reno, we would love some precipitation. Almost 90 days without any rain and in the mid to high 90's. BTW, I use to live in Steamboat Springs back in the early 60's and have a brother-in-law that lives in Kremmling. I've been Elk hunting with him several times in the mid to late 90's
