I miss the US when I am here, but miss Europe when I am in Oklahoma. On a total whim, the wife and me drove to South Holland, just to do it.

Ate my favoriate foods, that you can only get in Holland, and brought back a rent-a-car full of that food, Heiniken, and yes CHEESE, and slept at a camp site unannounced (normally reservations are a MUST!). The tent had space for six persons (cots with mattress), electricity, refigerator, gas stove and heater..........snack bar..bar...and camping style showers and laundry room for 36 Euros (about $45).

Next time we are going to sock-it-to Austria (although Holland is my 3rd home).......on a semi-whim.

So if y'all got a slush fund, slush on over here, if family members ask why: "Because Jon said so!" I promise you will like it.

I might add it was our shortest visit, but our 7th to Holland.

Sounds like fun Jon.

I know you don't care for Heffe, so drink a Pils for me :)

Hey Gump, I had a Heiniken:D

We stoped in the city of Gouda, where the cheese is from, and in the tourist information center, they did indeed sell cheese. It was good too!

That does sound like fun.

I've not been to Europe yet, but I had relatives that lived there. They always said one of the best things about being there was how close all the different countries were.
