I hear 223 is going to be hard to get soon and I would even buy some and send to a good cause. I also hear lead etc is going to be hard to get to reload anything. Also hear the cost of what is still going to be out there is going to jump about 50% or so. Is this due to the war? If so I can understand but for some reason back in the ole brain I hear those voices saying the anti's are involved here somewhere or at least getting some kind of ideas.....what is your opinion? I have yet to hear more about the Pa instant check and how it all went after the shutdown....is it back in order?....what kind of changes were made?....

Skeeter, prices have jumped tremendously on ALL ammo.....
granted, military requirements are a factor, all components are
going up. I was noticing a marked slowdown in number of people at the range this weekend. I don't know if this is costs or people are just saving what they have...........

yea I kind of think maybe saving some of what ya have..even stock pile building too...is what I am working on myself here...never know anymore the way this strange world is...sure hate to even think it but there could be the day I be picking off the enemy from my attic window...is why I can't believe these anti gun people we have in this country...I know from being over seas there are quite a few people that think we are all like the old west days with the gun on the hip at all times...I tell them na..those days are gone...the gun is hidden now and ya have to carry them under your shirt..lol...but who in their right mind would think of getting rid of our guns unless....yes....unless you were part of the problem in todays world...just who and how do they think this Country would be defended...I took an oath when going into the military...and never remember changing that when I got out....anyhow..need to stockpile when and if ya can. I can't even toss a rock like I use to so that would be hard to fend off the enemy that way...I use to seal 6 number 3 rocks in a bag with instructions on use included. Reusable ammo of the future and gave a bag to every anti I came by. That is another story so in the mean time...going fishing and getting ready for deer season that is just around the corner here in PA....

the military and law enforcement demand for the .223 & .308 is certainly a key factor involving the price/availability. i read that recently (i cannot recall where, though)
i also have a feeling that the UN is pushing to eliminate the usage of all military caliber small arms ammo from private usage and we know there are those leaders here that want us to cater to the UN. the UN is NOT a favorable institution for the private gun owners of the world. they are in fact, anti-gun when it come to private ownership and have so stated.
california is trying to outlaw the use of lead ammo in the california condors range and possibly state wide.
there's great concern from those of us that reside here in the state of kaliphornia about hunting/gun rights in this state. we feel the state legislature does NOT have the interest of hunting/gun rights in mind. i would say they are in fact anti-gun/anti-hunting.
Guys, beyond the military demand for certain calibers, there is another reason ammo and components are scarce/expensive.
China's economy is exploding with all kinds of manufacturing and construction, Right now, I believe they are the fastest growing economy of any large nation. And you know how large China is.
To fuel their expansion, China is paying top dollar around the world for all types of raw materials- metals being prominent among those needs.
Lead, copper, tin, etc., all going to China right now. That's why the price of components is up, and there are shortages.

Yea I heard that same thing about China a while ago. Would be nice if we could make some of the items here at home but who can afford to make wages like they get over there and still feed your family here. Don't know where it is going to end up. Just hope this isn't a food in the door for people like the anti group.
