Should be right up the alley for Traditional Muzzleloaders nowadays...

MDM is now offering a tungsten core bullet that is sheathed in copper with a hollow point that they are calling the PowerCore in both 285 and 222 grains. They're saying impact velocity should be over 2000 fps.. great for that traditional RMC flintlock Pennsylvania upgrade.

They also have another neat little advancement for the traditional crowd, a bullet/cartridge complete. How cool is that? Full bore lead bullet (or sabot) with a Black Mag consumable "stick" affixed. Bullet with its own powerpack... Brings the traditional muzzleloaderist into the 20th century, inline with the modern centerfire cartridge ballistics...

So since we seem to have a cadre of folks here wanting to "experiment" with different bullets an all... and especially sabots... you all ought to be tickled with this news....

Happy shooting... :)

Aloha...

rattus,
I`ll beleive it when I see it. I`ve heard claims like that about other thing and still have found nothing that will shoot as accurately as the patch and round ball in the out long twist muzzle loaders, and I mean pure lead round balls. I once cast some ball with virgin lead, alittle harder than pure, and the difference in accuracy was very noticable even shooting off hand.

Hi Catfish,

I agree.. I hunt with either round ball or home cast conicals. Powder's have a lot to do with accuracy as well. My 58 caliber is a fabulous shooter and I would find it hard to find something that shot better, especially out of a box like this.

I posted this as a dig anyways... and I'm going to address this "dig" with mr petey here who seems to be blind to some and eyes wide open to others...

Much Aloha,

Tom

Oh Really.... Personal Attacks??? What a laugh... Who was it mr petey that did any name calling? Was it me or one of your weenie supporters that won't stand up for himself with honest debate?

Who was it mr petey, who posted modern muzzleloader "testing" when some time ago you let this thread flame me to no end... if you want RESPECT mr petey, then I suggest that YOU start respecting the WHOLE of the thead.

As to this being brought over here, it shows me that you will allow modern muzzleloader discussions for some, but not for others... and you expect me to respect that?

I am a traditionalist, mr petey, and if this place has no sense of humor in light of "personal attacks" of which I have started calling myself the "troll" over on your so called modern/traditional as long as it is adam helmer and close friends posting.

Rattus,

Once again,

If you feel the need to pursue such an exchange, do it off site.

It is utterly impossible for me to watch everything that happens on MY site.

If you feel that you are being personally attacked by a moderator or treated unfairly, please notify Petey immediately.

I've had no such notification, instead you chose to drag it out for the public to see, then admit to trying to bait someone into an argument.

If you have a beef with one of my moderators, or members then talk to me about it. Don't spout off antogonizing things trying to bait someone into something more than just a debate. I keep this board as clean as possible, with the wonderful moderators that I have, by following the guidelines I put in place. The same rules which you agreed to upon signing up here.

I've enjoyed your posts in the past but there's no need for name calling. If there's something you have to say to me or about one of my moderators about anything, do it off site. I have an open door policy, but I do not tollerate this type of behavoir on MY site.

Before you post, please reread the rules, shoot me an email..give me a number. I'm willing to talk. Don't try to pick a fight or bait the owner with the exact things he told you not to do. I think the members here are the greatest people on Earth and I hate to lose one, but I'm not at all afraid to shut the door if one doesn't abide by the rules. Don't forget who pays the bills here, you won't get very far.

Again, if you have an issue about something that happened, email me about it and we can discuss it off site. I have no clue about the flaming that occured upon yourself. I can't watch everything that happens, which is why I have moderators in the first place. Lets talk first.

Hi Petey,

I appreciate your position. I am not one generally to run to anyone with a Nana nana nana.... sniveling about how someone may have "hurt my feelings or called me names". My nature is to generally face it head on... and by the way, if I'm wrong about something, it's my nature to apologize about it immediately as well.

So my promise to you is this, I'm not a tattletale, so I'm not going to email you or PM you with anything I might find offensive, which is rare, but I will challenge what I see as hypocrisy. So my promise to you is that I will think twice before "challenging" posts with whatever. Three times might be too much, so before you can my butt... at least read the whole thread first... :) Fair enough?

Much Aloha,

Tom

Rattus,

Thank you very much. But please feel free to shoot me off a PM or email anytime. (That goes for any member that reads this) Especially if it has to do with a moderator and it's something that I need to address behind the scenes. I don't see everything that goes on, even though I'm on as much as possible. I have great confidence in all my moderators, which is why I asked them to hold the positions they have. Sometimes they are in the wrong too, though.

Anything that may look hypocritical on my behalf, is more than likely, lack of information ;)

Continue with your great contributions. Again, you the members of Huntchat make it such a great site.

Thanks
Petey

Hi Petey,

I'm more than likely to send you a PM to wish you merry christmas or a thanksgiving wish of prosperity for you and your family.... :D :D

Much Aloha.. Tom
