I was wondering what type of helmet you wear when riding your ATV. For recreational riding I can see wearing a full face helmet for the added protection but, when out hunting or scouting (when you're generally riding at slow speeds), do you wear an open face, half helmet or a full face? I was thinking of an open face since you get better vision as well as some good protection. Or do you not wear a helmet at all when hunting or scouting? I'm hoping to have an ATV before next hunting season and was curious what kind of helmets folks wear. Thank you for the input

Since nobody else has responed... If I'm out for fun and playing around, I'll wear a full face helmet, usually a snowmobile type as I really don't care for the typical dirt bike/off road helmets. For more casual riding, I'm looking for a 3/4 open face design. Looked recently on-line as it was either Shoei or Arai that had what I liked.
I do definately advocate wearing one. When younger, I did the dirt bike, ATV and snowmobile stuff and would occasioanlly get a little bit crazy. A couple whoopses got be two cracked Bell helmets. Better that then my skull.

That's more or less what I was thinking. If I'm out scouting or hunting I'll wear a 1/2 or 3/4 face for the added visibility. I won't be doing much crazy stuff to worry too much about crashing hard. I figure if I baby it as much as I can I'll have a fresh machine if I ever do have to open it up tear-a$$ through the wood. Thanks again.
