So, we have this product which, when it was named, was not perhaps named accurately. (Mind you, this was prior to my joining the company).
Ever since I've joined the company, I've been contemplating changing the name of the product. We've finally decided to do that, and we need your help.
From now until November 19, we're running a "Rename Our Product" contest. The person who suggests the name that we use will win a Gunslinger and one of the first t-shirts with the new product name and logo on it. You can read more about the contest and why we decided to hold it here: Rename the Product Contest (http://www.git-r-slung.com/blog/index.php?itemid=255)
Seriously, gang, I can't name anything else this year, I've had to come up with too many names already, so I can really used the help. You can leave your suggestions on this thread, leave them as a comment on the blog, or e-mail or PM me with your suggestions.
I'm hoping someone will come up with something good.
Thanks in advance for the help,
GSG
Ya, Gunslinger is kind of a misnomer as it's not a sling. I'll take a stab at it, haven't given it much thought so if I come up with something better will let you know. It's harder than I originally thought to come up with a unique name for that product that's relatively short!! Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Saf-T-Hunter Weapon Gitter
Forgot to ask you Gunslingergirl, if I win, do you change your handle to Gittergirl? :D
And, when I listened to your interview a few weeks ago when you were on the radio, you sounded very similar to one of my relatives! Now that's a good thing, sounded nice. All the best to everyone on the contest.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I think I'll keep the Gunslingergirl screen name even when we change the product name. It would just be too confusing otherwise.
It's funny, I get told I sound like a lot of people. Glad you enjoyed the interview.

My wife suggested "The Idiot Chord" what we called the lanyard officers had on their .45's when I was in the army, but that ain't too marketable, so let's try:
"Strap-n-safe"

Yeah, I've got to agree the "Idiot Cord" probably wouldn't sell too much product.
I like the other idea though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion, jmarriott.
It's fun to see what names people suggest. There are certainly some that never would have occurred to me.

Wow, what a lot of good suggestions. I can see we're going to have our work cut out for us when we have to pick the name we'll use.

GSG I guess i kind of ripped off Fedex there on the slogan so I came up with a new one " when you find your butt in a sling make sure its a Guardian".

We picked the new name this morning. We had a lot of great suggestions, and I'm very grateful to everyone who took the time to learn about our product and suggest a name.
The new name of the product is the GunTriever.
We think it is unique, just like our product, and will be easy to remember.
Again, thanks to everyone who made a suggestion.
