Oh now, dont git all riled. It aint ya'll I'm fixin to fuss about.
See...hubby sent me a link to a fishin game online, which he is whoopin my butt on btw, and I decided to see who would whoop who's butt at a huntin game lol...so...in lookin fer a huntin game online...I see this particular site also had forums. So, I checked em out.
I think that at this particular minute, I got steam flowin from my ears. Two threads got my interest, and both of em got my dander up so bad, I think I'll call my mama and see iffin I can take one of the high blood pressure pills she takes.

I wont name the site, but these people (includin a couple rogues from this site...which distressed me) were actin like nutcases. The 8 page thread was nothin but screamin...callin each other names that even I not say here...over...shall we say...styles of huntin. Which is perfectly legal..but some people like it and others dont..I aint never in all my born days seen hunters argue over crap like these people.

I know that there are some issues that are touchy when it comes to huntin...but hunters are sittin there tellin other hunters..
I know a few people who would love to donate money to help in the fight! As long as it is not PETA, they can have all my money!!!

So keep chasing them babys keeps you out of the real woods and leaves the real deer for the true hunters.

I'm glad so many people are posting these great comments against the {I left this blank for the sake of argument}QUOTE]

[QUOTE]One thing that you are right about is that there are still hunters that hunt like slobs too.

Maybe it's a man thing and I need to butt out...but I tell ya...if those are the fools representin our kind...I'd just as soon have our good buddy Hillary as our rep.

I took notice, it wont just in that thread either. It was everywhere. That there just shows, once again, that a few bad apples always spoils the bushel. Hunters will be our own undoin I'm afraid, and all that reminds me never to drift away from "home" no more...lol
But, I might have to post a few words in that thread myself, just to see how I can make em look even more ravished with excessive gooberism than they already are ;)

Lilred,

I know what you mean. I got BLASTED on another site over an observation about hunting equipment. It just doesn't make any sense. if I wanted to argue with people over inconsequential details, I'd pay better attention at family gatherings.:D :p All kidding aside, it really makes you appreciate what we have here at HC, don't it?

Hey lilred, I have been lookin for a good online hunting and fishing game to kill time with. If you could send me the links to yours, i'd appreciate it. I agree with you guys as well, we have one of the best sites right here. Some of them all they do is sit around and complain and take stabs at eachother and try to look like they know everything.

Red....If I've said it once, I've said it a Million times.....

We (hunters/Shooters) are Our own worst enemy.

I see it all the time.

In addition to hunting, I like to shoot.

I like all types of guns, What ever they might be.

I own guns from a .17HMR...to...Two .50BMG rifles.

I own pistols, shotguns, blackpowder, and bolt actions.

I also like surplus/military arms, and own several.

Even the dreaded "EVIL BLACK RIFLES" and a few AK varients.

I shoot, and enjoy them all...and have hunted with most of them.

But whenever My "Evil" guns are out at the range....I get one of three reactions...

(1.) "WOW! Cool!" In this case I will gladly talk, educate, and many times let the people/person..even take a shot or two.

(2.) "Is that a Machine gun/Assault Rifle/Full Auto/Baby Killer/Cop Killer/Etc.??!??!?" In this case, I try to correct their misinformed ideas..but many times it's a loosing battle....to much Hollywood/TV.

(3.) "Why would ANYONE even want/need one of those? You can't HUNT with them!/ They aren't any good for anything but spraying from the hip!/ Who are you going to kill with that THING!?!" In most cases, I'm just going to give them my patented "GO-AWAY, YOU ARE BOTHERING ME!" stare/speach..as I've tried th reason/logic approach so many times..with very little good results to bother with it again.....they are "Lost" with little hope of ever returning to reality. My small, consistent groups..do little to educate them, that these are not "wall hangers/blunderbuss shooting bullet hoses", but working good(and some of them..GREAT) shooting guns. Their minds are made up, and there isn't anything I can show them, tell them, of prove to them that will change that.

It is sad, but true.

Ask Mr. Zumbo about it some time........

I've visited a few other forums over the years. I've never gotten into any arguments, but I've watched quite a few escalate to the point it was embarrassing to even read them. I just left.

This is by far the most polite, considerate and civil site I've seen and now it's the only one I go to. Lots of good down to earth people who like to socialize with their own kind and help each other out. People here act like their Mom & Dad taught them to act.

I like that.

Tall Shadow, next time they ask what you shoot with that thing, just say, "Pesky azzholes."

Hey Lilred

Sounds like those clowns need to hear the speech of the Last Re-demption sermon administerd by Revereness Lilred and Reverend Billy D. We'd starch their bloomers.

Boy could we stir the pot up over there. :D

What web site is this from anyway?

Best wishes, Bill

Yep, some chat boards are just terrible. I found a bicycle related one that is pretty much like this one. Granted, more democrats on it, but we are all polite about our issues and most of the political stuff stays in the "politics only" forum. I have been to several hunting and fishing related chat boards, and just from reviewing the threads I was scared to even type a word in them. I went to a tax chat board last year to ask a question and was told to take my tax return to a professional instead of trying to do it myself. Hello, how much more professional could I be other than being an attorney/CPA and it wasn't my tax return in the first place.

I truly hate when people think they know everything, or when they think they are too important to help people that don't know what they know. It usually ends up coming around.

I have met a lot of great people from this board and from the cycling chat board I mentioned above. I have also found that the people that cause trouble on a board are the ones that you don't really want to associate with in person.

Me, I love Huntchat.

I was shoting my ex-son-in-law's AR-15 at the range one day when our local SWAT team set up to check their sights and do a little wasting of the taxpayer's money. FWIW, our local SWAT team is rather anti-gun.
Anyway, this one jerk with a badge says to me, "People like you shouldn't have access toguns like that."
I looked at him and said, "If people like me didn't have guns like this, people like you would run all aover people like me."
I don't think that made him too very happy, not that I give two hoots in hell whether he is happy or not. :D

PJ,

I agree completely with you. In our local paper, I just read a story where an LEO arrested and beat a guy, because the guy was a rival for a love interest (i.e., woman). Yeah, supposedly there was probable cause for the stop, and supposedly the IO found drugs in the vehicle, but the assisting officers said that there really wasn't any reason for the IO to have beaten the guy and the assisting officers also said that it was highly unlikely that there was probable cause for the stop. The county is being sued for $3.7 million and the officer for $1.3 million. The sad part about it all is that the officer is still on the force. How exactly this can happen, I have no idea.

My answer to the SWAT guy would have been, "Exactly how many murders have you stopped recently, and exactly how many have there been in your jurisdiction?" By the time SWAT is on the scene, it has already hit the fan. I'd rather not have to make a call that would get SWAT involved in my situation, because at that point it is a complete mess.

Fabs. Actually, I'm pretty proud of the way I handled it. :D Considering my temperment, he's darn luck I didn't cuss his ancetry all the way pack to Permian protoplasm. :D  I do have a tendency to do things like that when extremely miffed.
