I've got Weatherby Vanguard SS in .243 Win that I'd like to have frozen. Has anyone here ever had a barrel cryo-acurized? How much does that increase accuracy and how much does it cost. Does anyone do it in Saskatchewan?

I`ve 2 cryro`ed barrels, both clean up easier after the cryo but, I see nothing to suggest they are anymore accurate after.
Then again it might just be the shooter......

Won't help the accuracy one little bit.
Will help with the cleaning tho.
Not worth the money!

But ya have to understand that is coming from a self confessed Retired Bum Opinionated Old Fart....that just happens to be right. I kinda feel if you have a good bbl to begin with it's gonna shoot just fine. If the average shooter can tell the difference in any groups...he'll just probably be holdin his mouth right for that one group:D
Benchrest shooters, who will kill their Mothers if it will improve their group size, seems to think that cryo treating a barrel does not improve accuracy.
So, I gotta agree with the others.

I was talking to one of the B R shooters at a shoot acouple of years back that had all of his barrels Cyroed. I ask if it really helped and his reply was that it didn`t hurt. I talked to a metallergits and he told me you could stress releve a barrel just as well by hitting it several times with a hammer.

Isn't shooting it pretty much like hittin it?

Never heard a barrel ring when it was shot, but it will if you hit it with a hammer and it`s hanging free.
