My fine Elhew pointer is coming back from the dead, Grits' head was trying to get between my legs all nite. As with life, I take that as a good sign. I assume my buddies here agree. He is looking good, today was a good day. His bowels are soft serve and getting firmer. I am a happy woman.....:D

Good news Val.
Did they put him on a special diet?
My dog Fritz was....well sicker than a dog, last year. He got into my Chocolate stash after Christmas. I love bitter-sweet Chocolate and my kids always send me some.
Any way, bonehead ate one of those Giant sized Hershey Bars. He also like the box of Chocolate Covered Cherries. He stareted acting listless and wouldn't eat or drink anything. I didn't know he had gotten into the candy so I couldn't tell the vet much and Fritz wasn't talking while the flavor lasts. So she started with the basics.
Put him on a special diet, Rice, Hamburger, canned veggies and Chicken Boullion. Meanwhile back at the ranch I had discoverd what he had gotten into and called her back. She said continue with the diet and the Medicine she gave me.
In a couple of days he started to get better. She said we were lucky cause that stuff he ate would kill most dogs.
I have now hidden my stash in another totally inaccessible place.
I have always admired Veterinarians, their patients can't talk. The "Doc" has to start from scratch.
Glad to hear Grits is getting better.
Best wishes, Bill

Now that should be a wonderful tribute, Northwestern honored him as one of the most admired writers of the outdoors, He was an Editor of Gunn and Ammo magizine...Wrote seven best sellers in his category, this man lived his life dedicated to all most of us here hold holey. He will be missed, glad my dog's namesake is his also....

Val,
Glad to hear that Grits is doing better. Seems like every bad story you have ends with a good ending. The ending is all that matters. Give Grits a pat on the head for me.

Hey Val,
Great news..... Sorry for being off and no good wishes. I was finishing up a restock on my father in-laws WWII shotgun trophy. He lent the StEtaine 16ga SxS to an idiot nephew who beat a squirrel with it. Broke the tang, trigger guard and shattered the stock.
Any way it is great Grits is doing well and getting better.
