A Bill proposed on February 5, 2008 in Harrisburg would encode a serial number on all handgun ammunition sold in Pennsylvania. I read the bill, but did not jot down the number. I read that, if passed, the law would require ALL handgun ammo currently owned (and not serially numbered) would have to be disposed of and would be illegal to own after January 1, 2010.
I think this illogical bill would put an end to bullet casting and reloading as we Pennsylvania residents know it today. WOW! My Coleman Stove and lead pot would be as illegal as a still or meth lab. Oh, and toss in 28 bullet moulds, to boot.
I doubt this bill will go anywhere, but we need to keep alert because the lunatic anti-gun fringe is always lurking.

I wonder where they want to encode the number at ? The Bullet, the brass ? And your Illegal ammo, are they going to come and get it? I doubt that unless they want to start a civil war!

They were going to lazer engrave a number on each bullet base. Since you have bullet molds you would have a choice of imprisonment or giving up the molds:D :D
Or a fate even worse than death...you may have to have your brain lobotomized so you can't remember how to reload. Heck with me having that CRS disease..they'll just let me go..what reloads?..whats that?? Bullet molds? is dat sumpin dem bullits git on 'em so ya can't use 'em no more

I hope it passes. I have a really neat way of getting rid of all that "illegal" ammo.:D

Classicvette63,
At our last gun club meeting, someone asked a sage old member what he would do when they come for his guns. He said, "Why, I would give them the ammo first!"
