Just came back from the nail salon, unlocked my front door, went to back door and opened it to let the dogs out back. Came back in and my boyfriend had a shotgun in the face of some black guy at the front door....black guy said he was sent over to do maintenance by a guy named Bill...umm: no car, no tools ( now the way i see it, this guy saw me get out of my car...and figured I would open the door.........I never open my door to people I dont know....I doubt that guy will knock on my door again...;)

I hope you gave your man a "Reward" for being "On his toes!" ;)

I'd bet a month's salary, that your instincts about this guy were right on!

As the US, as a society, sink deeper in direction we are going.....I see this type of thing happening....all too often.

I am glad all turned out well for you, and your boyfriend Val.....It just shows....all of Us....just how precious the right of self protection really is....and how vigorously we MUST defend it.

And, don't worry.....

The little bulls-eye looks real cute on ya! :D ;)

Old war story:

When we flew in 'nam our Squadron Commander used to come to Naked Fanny for his Re-certification rides. Also to prove he really could handle Combat.

Our area of operation was from North Vietnam, South through Laos and through Cambodia into South 'nam.

Along this beautiful hunk of landscape Victor Charlie set up a HUGE Anti Aircraft Artillery defense system. 23MM, 37MM, 57mm, 85MM and 100 MM guns to protect their supply routes.

When ever this guy flew with us we always got shot at much more than on our normal? missions. Like 3 times as much.

So we fondly nicknamed him "Magnet A$$". He could attract AAA walking the streets of downtown Bangkok. I almost used another word there. The GI'S will know it. ;)

But I have to say we never did take a hit when he was with us. Thanx Scanners.
So he wasn't all bad. Although he didn't get to fly alot, once he got settled in the aircraft he was quite proficient.

So don't feel bad about being a Magnet A$$, just keep your six covered.

Best wishes, Bill

Did you report the armed confrontation to the police?

Valigator
05-10-2008, 08:49 AM
No, we did not.....we dont call it an "armed confrontation" anymore....its just the way we open the door to people we dont know.....way of life down here now....ps...there is a warning on my door though...it clearly states....

Notice to Solicitors..you will be met at the door by an armed occupant. If this is uncomfortable to you, you may contact us thru the Ft. Lauderdale directory in which we are listed.

The other is Warning: NO trespassing, You will be shot and Killed.

The no car part is what would worry me, if he didnt drive up, then were did he come from?

with the events you've had in the last few months Val, and after this..I'd be keeping a close watch out, this wasen't accidental.

call me paranoid if you will, just my .02

I know what the problem is ... your signs are only in english:eek: !

Hey Val

You might think about taking the signs down. Might be enough to Piss Off some slob and wait you out. Not sure about the legality of shooting someone in Fl and if you happen to do it with signs saying you will be shot it may be viewed as premeditated. Some might say you were looking to blow someone away. Maybe just a No Trespassing would be better.

You do have a target between your eyes. No only from the scumb bags but from the LEO's in your area. Please just be careful.

Val I like the signs but I have a 'beware of dog' sign in front here and have been told that if my Boxer were to bite someone (mine would lick them to death) anyhow I admitted to having an attack dog and my insurance might not pay. Dog just died in Feb but sign is still there and it keeps lots of people from entering my porch.
Now there is the part of this visitor you had saying he is to do maintenance...what kind?..Maybe one of those confrontations you have talked about in the past here wanted something 'cleaned up'...????? I don't know but this has to be a warning to you to watch where you go at all times..Drive-by shootings are the big thing around W. Pa here..watch doing yard work even.... hate to spook ya but it has happened here in this small town I live in....door was knocked on, guy opened door..was shot ..killed..shooter got the guys dad instead of the guy he was looking for....drug dealers..can happen anywhere and would hate to see it happen down there....with you...yea maybe sign is in English...here in America, why would they be in English?..

You have an interesting life for sure. Glad you are proactive and not just reactive.

Had a patient yesterday that I hadnt seen since my "incident". Real nice soft spoken guy, probably around my age or a little younger. He said he had the same problem about 15 years ago but his situation went a little further. I asked "did you kill him?" and he said yes. He had to go in front of a grand jury and it cost him thousands....but ultimately he was found to have acted in self defense. I didnt get the entire story but I will. Its amazing what it cost to even defend yourself in this day and age, but I guess it beats the alternative. Anyway you guys are the best and I know you are all with me when I walk out my door. I refuse to let this hide me away in fear. Reading the daily paper doesnt help but it does re-enforce my efforts to try and make people especially women wake up and take more responsibility for their own safety. I think I told you I was in contact on a regular basis with a convicted predator in another state. He alerts me to certain sites and forums that are keeping my incident alive, so I know its just a waiting game. My Sensei has even started sneaking up behind me to get me sharper and faster..We are working on assailants with knives, thats kinda fun...He also teaches knife throwing, I bought a book on it....looks rather interesting...

wouldn't the NRA supply a lawyer to help you out in a defense case with a gun?

Probably not. They would not garner a lot of nation wide publicity if they did. It has been said that the NRA only takes on cases they feel they can win.
When a big developer was trying to shut down the range near San Francisco, way back in the 1960s, the NRA was asked to help fight off the lawsuit. We never heard from them. The range is now home to million dollar houses.
A friend of mine ran into that same sort of thing in San Diego. Again, when the NRA was asked for help, they refused to even answer the call for help.
You can ask them, but do not hold your breath.

Val,

There was another case that happened in Colorado Springs in which the defendent won as the situation being justified.

They just passed additional legislation extending the MMD law to protection of businesses.

I am always real curious about these cases lately...as you can imagine. I have alot of people who think I should file suit against the city for what they put me thru. I am just not a lawsuit kind of girl. But what I have determined is that no matter what state you may reside in, it cost you an arm and a leg to protect yourself. Things are gonna get alot worse before they get better in this up coming economy. I occationally talk to other forums, especially my local newspaper forums, its amazing what lines in the sand are drawn about guns. Heck I am surrounded by liberal sheep here. (you should have called 911) I would have been dead waitin on 911, and I imagine in self defense incidences, not much time to dig the cell out, anyway thanks for the clip...PS Grits is doing good, I think he has heart damage because of his breathing, so I dont know about hunting him again...but I am taking him for another check-up soon..

Hey guys and ladies...all is ok here...I took a little time off and checked into a Daytona Beach hotel, I sat there, I sat there and I sat there...I then called an attorney friend of mine, ex finace' who specializes in these kind of cases.....he asked me to get over to him any and everything on my case and we will sit down and talk....so i did..havent had the consult yet, but waiting....meanwhile I went on a rampage with my above badguy and he moved....that was my intention in the first place and now it is done....
