I just bought a Carlson's "dead coyote" choke tube for my mossberg for varmit hunting. The largest shot we can use here on fur bearing animals in #2. I have been using Hevi-Shot dead coyote for the dogs, but I am thinking of using my new choke with hevi-shot #2 for all the others (fox, bobcat etc... maybe a dog too).
Do you all think the Hevi Shot #2 with the Carlson's Hevi-Shot dead coyote choke will go well and be a good combination?

Were resticted here also. No buckshot. Hit a coyote with a good dose of #2 at a reasonable range and you'll be dragging. Killed a few with #2 Bismuth and they fell dead. Never saw a reason to change from that.

yep we can not use buckshot here either (except for large game) on fur-bearing animals. I have never used #2 regular shot on any animal, so I was curious as to if it would work.
Thanks for the info...

Well, I have you beat. We cannot even use buckshot here on large game. I honestly have no idea why I ever see it in the stores around here, but I guess somebody could buy it here for a hunting trip in another state or for home defense.

All barrels are dirrerent and it seem that different chokes seem to due better in different barrels. The only way to know which choke is best in your gun is to patterent them. Larger shot tend to shoot better in more open chokes than smaller shot, or at least that`s what I`ve found.
