Has anyone ever built a gunstand for the range? I am thinking of doing something to have my long guns on at the range. Our range is pretty chincy. If there are several people you have to resort to laying your gun on the ground on the case. I am envisioning some thing like a pool cue rack, but for rifles. Any ideas? Pics would be great.

Yep, really not that hard to do. I don't have any picks but you need a saw, a hammer and nails (or even better a cordless screwdriver and decking screws) and a drill (or again cordless screwdriver) and a hole cutter bit like for a doorknob. Just put on two bottom boards (the very bottom on longer than the other with the upper bottom board edge scalloped using the doorknob cutter) and a top board edge scalloped with the doorknob cutter. for the back braces use a couple of 2xs then run a 2x at an angle down each side to the leading edge of the longer bottom board. Thats quick and dirty. For a nicer one (I don't like the square cutouts on this plan, but I do like the overall plan) see the link below.

You could always leave off the shelves and make it one sided with a straight back (basically what I was describing)
