Firefox users

Anybody else using Mozilla Firefox having problems? I can open a link in a new tab but when I try and navigate to a different page it takes the first tab to that page. There are a couple pages I like to stay logged in to while I surf another tab and this is getting downright aggravating:mad:

nope. I gave up on firefox. I am currently using google chrome. Works pretty darned well.

Mine doesn't do that, Tater.

You might try changing your settings so that a new page opens in a new window rather than a new tab. (Tools, Options, Tabs, check the "new window" box) Close and re-open Firefox to apply the new option.

If that fails, export your bookmarks and settings. (if you don't have the add-in Foxmarks, get it. It's great!) Then remove and re-install Firefox from their website.

GOB - I tried Google Chrome a couple months ago when it came out and wasn't terribly impressed. It's nice and stable but I've grown very accustomed to Firefox with their neat little add-ons and tools.

Rocky - The first thing I checked was my settings. I don't really like having multiple windows open; I prefer the tabs. If I remove and reinstall it will I lose the add-ons and other stuff? I'll also check out Foxmarks. Thanks.

if you remove it you need to also delete the directory after you reboot, and yes you will lose your add-ons at that point. The defrag the computer and redownload and reinstall the current version.

I like google chrome because even without the add-ons it doesn't decide to just do whatever the heck it wants on random days the way firefox started doing to me. Also I like the incognito windows when at work because my nosey bosses don't get to look at a page history.

To backup your bookmarks in Firefox, go to Bookmarks, then Organize Bookmarks. In the command bar you'll see Import and Backup. Click and follow directions.

But the superslick way is to download the Foxmarks add-in. It automatically stores, merges and updates your bookmarks with ALL your computers. Highly useful for anyone with a home and a "road" computer.
