Caught a Northern Pike almost as big as me and shared it with a bald eagle that followed me home. See the pics in my YouTube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkWK80ZNqfM

Nice vid.
I hope you don't mind...I'm gonna share that with my daughter. She has a year left of high school...wants to join the military. I want to show her what standing on her own two feet really means.

Thanks, guys. I'm glad you liked it. My goal is to get myself a high-def digital video camera and do some filming in the spring. There's just an unbelievable amount of wildlife up there as you can see from the pics in my current video-- and the scenery is also amazing.

Got a buddy up there by the name of Bruce "Buck" Nelson. He's an author/videoaugrapher and kind of does the same stuff with videoing all of his adventures in Alaska. They are worth seeing..
On of my favorites is the "700 Miles Alone by backpack & Raft" , where he hunts dall sheep, caribou, and has a moose tag, over I believe almost 2 months alone. 200 miles walking, 500 miles rafting...all the long filming his adventure as he hunts. http://www.bucktrack.com/Alaska.html
If he's nearby, look him up and tell him Petey from HC sent ya to say hello.

Petey, I bet your buddy is never boring to hang out with. Thanks for the link. It's exactly the kind of stuff that interests me.

Thanks, Jonesy. I was a little nervous putting it up there, so I appreciate the kindness. On Tuesday I'll be out on the river hoping to hook my first steelhead trout. A friend of mine caught a 10 pounder there today, so I'm hoping I get just as lucky. I'll bring the camera along though I hope I didn't just jinx myself.
