I got a big envelope from this group, promising that "I could be asked to use and test hunting gear!" (The crowd cheers). And the club dues are only $1 a month............and I will get lots of 'free gifts!'
Anyone know of this club out of, Minnetonka, MN?

Jon, I joined this when it was first formed...."you can hunt on club properties"...no properties...you will get mega books and other junk you did not order...I agree with skeet. Not for me.
This is not necessarily the opinion of HC, just my personal dos centavos worth!!!

Like Dan I joined a long time ago.
Back in the early 86 i think.....their mag was pretty good.
I did get to test a set of blackpowder "quick loaders" which i still have that actually worked great.
At that time there weren't any "hunting properties" to use, but they were still young.
I dropped out/stoppe dby membership when i went back overseas and just never picked it backup.
I am a member and get the mag every month. I have been sent several products to test ie electronic wild life caller, Boyt gun case, cheap flash light, a fold out camping cupboard (which works really well), gun cleaning mat and other things that I can't remember right now. I have never been sent any books or videos to try before you buy kind of thing like I get all of the time from the NRA. I have been a member for several years and get a test product about every 6 to 8 months. Some are pure junk, some are not bad, some are pretty good. The key to getting test product is, as soon as you get one and send in a test report go online and re-apply to be a tester.
I find it an OK club. To each his own.

Was a member back in the early 90s. Never got to be a tester but felt the mag was worth a buck a month.

Was a memeber for four years in the 90s myself. Only thing I ever got from them was a bumper sticker, and a bill.

I also was a member and dropped them after a few years. Never did get anything worth keeping.

I was a member for a few years. Too many hunting rags with too few hours to read them. Never did get anything except what Good Ole Boy got.

I too was a charter member when they first started up. I thought their magazine was garbage, they never sent me anything to test, a whole bunch of books that while the picture were good didn't teach me anything. The only good thing that ever came from that outfit was an offer to buy a specially made custom knife strictly for the charter members. $65 as I recall. it was a folder designed by Blackie Collins. When the knife came it was sharp enough to shave with. Oveer thirty years later, after skinning anf gutting more deer than I have fingers and toes to cout and a couple of elk to boot, that knife will still shave and I havd never touched it's blade to a stone. I think that if I ever lost that knife, I would cut my wrists. I hope to have it buried with me.

Blackie Collins he gets overlooked but creates so fine knives. I think some of his gerbers are good buys.
As for the NAHC, Na just save the money. I got 15 dollar windbreaker and a 12 dollar bill in the mail. Then I got the video set i never ordered and had to send it back before a certian date $1.25 to ship it back. . Then the same thing for a book set. $3.45 to send it back. I used a semi fake seldom used old email address and It appears they sell that info also. So i got 12 crappy copies of a mag, and a crappy windbreaker for $16.70.
Never wanted to be a member of a club that would have me as a member anyway.

Well, I am going to save a dollar a month. I am not much for gun magazines any more, the articles seem to be repeats of repeats, if I need information, I come here anyway!

LOL That's about exactly right! I did stay a member for quite a few years, never got anything good except the mags and I read those and passed em on. I do have some of their videos tho...
