Throwin' a 'hawk!

O.k., so what's the trick! I've been tryin' to throw a hawk so it sticks into a tree, ect., without much success.....not to mention that now my nieghbors are looking at me funny!:rolleyes:
Anyone got any tips? Thanks in advance.

Used to throw a hawk at my Uncles yrs ago. Most important is allow the hawk to release witrh very little wrist movement. It's mostly arm.

Throw it like you are pitching a baseball. If you are hitting handle first choke up on it some and throw from closer to the head, if you are throwing and the top of the head hits first ease up and throw from further down the handle.

And start out closer to the target (but not so close you get hit by bounces) and buy 12 extra handles until you get decent. After you get decent you only need three extra handles :p

GoodOlBoy, hit the nail on the head. Oh how my daughter, son and I used to love to throw hawks years ago. Had butt cut log a large cottonwood log in the back yard, and it was replaced several times. Bought my handles by the bundle as we all three would throw to see who came closes to the mark.
