Powderhorn Ski Area...over in Mesa County shut down early, too many Bears on the slope to be safe.Unseasonal weather has started a early snow melt and Bears emerging early! As they predict more folks vacationing closer to home this year, be camp and critter safe!!!!!

One of my hunting bud's almost hit one this week. Was about 15 miles west of Boston and just crossed the road. Doesn't know how lucky he was. He would have definately lost. The cement truck is a little bigger than a bear.

Dan - absolutely. Driver didn't even stop. Nice....
Buckhunter - just outside of Boston? It's getting wild up there! We had a mountain lion killed in Denver a year or two ago. A lot of folks said it was the first they had ever seen and it was downtown. http://www.huntchat.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Yep they are getting closer. Basically the burbs are loaded with deer and the bear are right behing them. Coyotes are even in the inner city now. The number of hunters plus the anit element here is not helping matters.
My brother lives in littleton. Has told me that he saw a M Lion few years back.

I live in the SW burbs...Columbine.....have coyotes all the time, few bear...so far. As to cats...several years ago, I was letting the dogs out about 4am...they wouldn't go out....I turned outside lights on...fresh snow...
beside the upper deck..going over garage were cat tracks...spaced about 30/36" apart. I now keep a 357 on a hutch by the door!(Wasn't no puddy tat)
DOW had warning signs out a couple of days later...someone saw more than tracks!
