glass bedding?

I have 2 model 70 Featherweights, 7mm-08 and .25 WSSM, that will print the first 2 shots practically on top each other and the 3rd opens the group up to 1.7-2.0".

They are both free floated. Would glass bedding rein in the 3rd? Would it change the dynamics of the rifle enough that I'd have to start over with reloads or just make a decent load shoot better? Or just shut up and own a 2" rifle?

That's a difficult question to answer with certainty. Glass bedding might very well help- or not.
A simple trick you might try first is to put a piece of business card stock between the barrel and the forend, near the forend tip. Do it in such a way as to add a bit of up pressure between the barrel and forend. Then shoot a group and see what you get.
Often, light contour barrels like yours do better with a bit of up pressure at the forend tip.
At any rate, that's a simple thing to try.
I would say in general that glass bedding is beneficial. I just can't say for sure it will work on your individual rifles.
