Flushing bars (http://www.mn.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/ecs/wild/flushingbar.pdf) provide a lot of "bang for the buck" when it comes to saving pheasants and other wildlife during harvest.

It is fairly easy and inexpensive to make an effective flushing bar. Here's an example of one my dad has used for years on his Minnesota farm.

Please take a little time and spread the word to local farmers, Pheasants Forever chapters, FFA chapters, hunting clubs, USDA offices and the like. It will be a good return on your time and it's the right thing to do.

Thanks!

That's a very clever and responsible thing to do.

Now, if you just add a rack for a nice little 20-ga next to the seat ...

In South Dakota they have used them back in the 60's but it has been quite a spell since I have seen them. Maybe because of all the birds now they think it is not really needed to keep the population up.

I can remember as a kid farming. There was no such thing. Thankfully a lot of the pheasant roosted in the hedge rows and thissle fields otherwise they would have been chewed up.
