The wife and I were going to go to the range today and do a little shooting. But after going to Wlamart, Meijers, adn Dunhams all I found were empty shelves!!!
The only thing they had was some rimfire, shotgun adn a few boxes of rifle calibers.
This is getting ridiculous!

Lone Wolf,

Starting a year ago, I began laying in components because I saw the dark clouds on the horizon. My local gun shop has all powder except IMR4350, lots of primers and bullets. The prices have gone way up since last year.

I found three boxes of the "cheap" Wolf Ammo in 50 rounds each. Still cost me $47 to get all three but at least I was able to take the wife out shooting. Guess from now on, it's once a week to try and find some on the shelf and get stocked up.

Sorry to hear that.....I've been into reloading most of my life......buddy of mine closed a gun shop bout 10 years ago....bought a ton of stuff...I'll eventually use it! With two kids whut shoot, only thing I've bought is a few pounds of powder and some primers....as for paper punching in a 30 cal, I've got several thousand m72 match bullets in DCM cartons.....ole geezer is not hoarding....just gonna shoot the rest of his life!

LoneWolf;
Sounds like you live in my general area.....I've heard reports on MichiganGunOwners about ammo showing up here or there, but the last time I was in Gander, the shelves were pretty empty (wasn't looking to buy....was just curious). Most of the popular calibers are scarce as hen's teeth (.38, .380, 9mm, 40, 45 ACP, .357). I'm sure there are going to be a lot of disappointed hunters come deer season and they can't find .308 or .30-06! There are some reports on the internet that reloading supplies (esp. primers) and ammo are starting to appear on dealer shelves, but all we need is some idiot Obamaphile like Holder or Pelosi to start spewing about gun control again & it will start all over and we'll be back to square one!

I am going shooting tomorrow down in the Ocala National Forest. I'll go 4 wheeling first, and then head to the range.
I will be trying out some new .223 hunting hand loads for my Ar15, and a new recipe for .38 Special snub nose guns.
I am not really feeling any sort of pinch or shortage of ammo myself. This is one of three safes in my den, that are pretty darn full.
Beer fridge next to it is full also. :D

8X56MS,

WOW! I hope you have shored up the floor under your den. I wonder if Halder or Sarah Brady would appreciate this fine photo. LOL.

My beer frige is downstairs from my reloading room- I need the exercise.

here in w.Pa ammo for handguns find pretty much empty shelves..I did find box of 223 other day..and was only box in store..gun store at that.....I shot a few rounds of wolf 223 out of my hog gun and think that was a mistake..first of all they do fly at least a foot from each other on target..and now when I went back to the 'good ammo'..they don't shoot as well anymore..250/300 yd hog shots were nothing..now not even sure would attempt one like that..I think a good cleaning to remove the led etc will bring back the '0' again..just to find something good that does work..might need trip to gunsmith for good cleaning..I will never shoot wolf ammo again.
