Down here in Texas we got our Harvest Moon about 4-weeks ago. Usually when the Moon is red or orange like that it means the the season is changing. I.E. summer to fall, etc. etc.

Since we got ours down here the weather has moderated somewhat, the highs have been in the lower 90's not the upper 90's or 100's. This week the weather reporters on TV are saying that we will be in the 60's in the mornings all this week.

Winters a coming and I can't hardly wait.

More likely the 13 fires we have here in Utah, Dan.

California gets all the news coverage, of course. But we've had between 10 and 20 fires active constantly for weeks now. Dry lightning-caused, for the most part.

The Forest Service decided to let one burn a while back, to clear out some invasive weeds. Then we got 70+ mph winds ahead of a front, and the thing exploded into prime rangeland. Our governor says the Forest Service can - and damned well better - pay for the loss and the firefighters, thank you very much.

Rocky, You are right about CA getting all of the news coverage. We have had two days of smoke in southern Wyoming and thought it was all from CA. We had no idea that Utah was having a fire problem. So much for network "coverage" of happening events.
