Does anyone know of a free (Internet) on-line source for the 7.5 min. U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps? It used to be that you could get these maps (or portions of them) free from the TOPOZONE web site. However they have either gone to charging for the service or someone else who does bought them out. When I still worked we had access to MapTech's "Terrain Navigator Pro" package and it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. However I lost all that when I retired. :(

I can't speak to what scale, but try here: www.myfishmaps.com.

Thanks Rocky. For what I want It beats Google Earth and the "TOPO" option does show portions of the USGS quadrangle sheets. The viewing window is awfully small though and I couldn't figure out how to capture an image to either print or save to a ".PDF" or ".JPG" file.

Well, it looks as if I answered my own question as a result of a little more surfing. The following URL will take you to a USGS sponsored site from which you can access their maps from several sources: http://nationalmap.gov/gio/viewonline.html. I tried the link for MapTech Mapserver and, at least for a freebie, it wasn***8217;t bad at all.

I registered at that fishing map site thinking it would be useful, but none of their maps give any underwater contours at all. Useless. I think that once you register there, you can download/print. But I haven't visited it since I discovered the lack of bottom contours.
