Where I didn't get somethin good at a yard sale. I did find some good stuff at an auction though. In a previous post I told of buying a Weatherby Mk V in 257 Weatherby mag... Well at the auction today I found 8 boxes of 257 WM ammo. Older factory stuff in the yeller boxes. Bought all 8 boxes for 120 bucks. Only thing wrong was there was only one box of 87 gr ammo..I know...complain complain complain. But still this stuff is 50 bucks a box or more. I also watched(in awe)as an older 1960 version Winchester 100 semi auto CARBINE in 243 sold for 350 bucks. I think I fell asleep at the wheel. There was a really nice S&W Model 24 44 spec in 4 inch bbl that sold for 400 bucks. I was sick..it was an 800 buck gun and I couldn't buy it cause I was in Montana. No out of state sales on handguns. What a stupid law anyway..A NICS check is a NICS check no matter what state!! Oh well...

Now tell me, don't you feel a lot safer tonight in your bed?

Sure I do..now for the good news. Found a nice S&W M-21 this morning.. Bought the sucker for 350 bucks..Even a bit more rare than a M-24. but fixed sights.. Well I'll just have to live with it..Now, I have 5 boxes of 44 Specials I got at the auction a few weeks ago so I can at least find out where this thing shoots:D Hopefully where I am alookin. Now to complete my S&W want list I have to find a 4 inch M-57 41 mag. I got a couple hundred rounds of 41 Spec brass in an online sale so I can try Rocky's 41 special loads.. soon as I find the Smith of course. I could shoot 'em in the Ruger though..:p Now for the bad news..I ain't seen an elk all season..not even a fresh track. heck hardly even an old track. I have however seen quite a few Wolfies..and a nice fresh track of a lion in the snow..really fresh.. It was probably lookin at me when I spotted the track. It was heading down the mountain cause the snow was gettin deep up there at 10,000 ft. The AIR was gettin kinda thin up there too....for my much abused body!! I might have to find me a MULE fer ridin up there. My huntin companion had a big horn sheep walk right past him at about 20 ft. Looked right at him and kept right on walkin. He was about a 3/4 curl and was down in the timber??

Geez, I wheez at 12ft. Yep that is the height of my floor above sea level. I know what it was, the thought of toating that super charged ATV goat all the way down the mountain.
