Well the jerk is still alive and reportedly did it by himself. Horse feathers! I'm not sure I believe that. He covered a large area by himself and fired a mess load of pro-jos downrange all by himself with two handguns?
To bad he didn't get to go see his virgins, for now I fear he will not ever get what he royally deserves.

bulletpusher,
This alleged violator seems like a "sleeper" Terrorist here on a mission that he took to fruition. One question: Will he be waterboarded, or will he have the right to remain silent?

I'm glad he is alive. Might be able to find out why the AHole did it. Too bad is last name isn't Jones. In spite of things there are a lot of good middle east soldiers in our Armed Forces and I would suspect this is going to rough for them.
It baffles me how he put all those folks down without someone throttling him. It sure is a suck bag situation.

The problem with a military base in the US and a situation like this is that the security, guns and ammo are around the perimeter for the most part. Once you get inside and especially inside a unit, you can raise havoc for a good length of time before the MPs come. This clown shot at least two MPs.
Those that do not think we are in a war need to look at this incident close. This is an Army officer, a psychiatrist, and an educated man that killed people who were not of his faith because they were not of his faith. He is a practicing Muslim who did not admit to being a Muslim on his military records. He was wearing No Prefrence dog tags.
Warm up the black hood and the fresh rope.
Best,
Ed

AP said he used a 5.7 mm semiauto. What the heck would that be or as usual is the AP messed up.

That is one fine police woman that took him down. Hit him four times. She deserves a medal.
Took a round her self but still got the job done.
Prayers to all involved and all of our soldiers where ever they are.

I believe it's called the FN7, or 57 or some such. You can get them with 20 round magazines. If he had two, there's 40 rounds without having to reload. I understand he did do at least one reload, possibly two. The report I heard was he'd converted to Islam but who the heck really knows. A 5.7 MM bullet would be what, .23 caliber?
According to the news I aw, he felt that Muslims should not be killing other Muslims. Frankly, I think that's a damn good idea myself.

The reports now are saying that he had a 5.7mm semi-auto and a .357 revolver. Must of reloaded a couple of times according to what their saying on TV, because the theory now is that he fired over 100 rounds.
He's off of a respirator now, maybe they will get to rub some fried (or raw?) bacon on his tongue and get him to talk.
I've never been one to play the politically correct games and this massacre just finished any possible thoughts of that forever.
Just my thoughts

It's my understanding the guy is in a medical induced coma. He did use a 5.7 fn pistol. The 5.7 is a very small diameter cartridge with a high velocity. It was designed, I think, to punch holes in bullet proof vests. I could be wrong.
As I'm writing this there is a lot of speculation about the army being broken, stress experienced by our troops, and screening people who enter the armed forces for mental instability. I don't believe any of this has anything to do with what has happened at fort hood.
I feel this is the result of a man who put his religious convictions ahead of his country. I feel that when push came to shove he simply decided he was a muslim first and an american second. Worse, it's becoming clear there were warning signs that were ignored. Why, I can't say at this time but I'm already wondering if PC considerations were at play. I'm guessing time will tell all.

the FN was designed for CQB...troops/LEO/bodyguards, etc., who are in vehicles to "shoot their way out".
if steps were taken/acted on, over the "signs" he gave, it would be distorted by someone to be "profiling", "prejudiced" or "racist".
this person will pay...let the system run it's course. as slow and inefficient as it is, it will work out some way. he'll probably die of old age, in prison, before anything is settled.
the military does not have the death penalty (except for treason during time of DECLARED war)

Don,
We are at war! The death penalty is on the books for the Military but has not been used in a long time.
I believe that a death penalty sentence has to be approved by which ever President holds the office at the time.
The problem that we have is we don't have a President in office at this time. The jerk sitting in the White House has yet to provide a legitimate copy of a birth certificate to prove that he is even a citizen much less that he was born in this country, which is required to even run for President.
Mister (Nidal Malik Hasan) terrorist who committed a massacre on U.S. Army Soldiers in a cold blooded terrorist attack is known now to have attended the same mosk as 2 of the 911 hijackers and even had his mothers funeral at that same mosk under the radical imon of that mosk.
Can we say extremest Islamic terrorist.
And if we are real careful we might be able to see Uncle Barry give the guilty son of a (*#&^&) a medal before he sends him on his way with a pocket full of money to the vacation spot of his choise.

From the book "The Castle" a book about Levinworth:
"In late January, the Department of the Army issued a set of regulations governing the U.S. military's use of the death penalty. "This publication is a major revision," said Sandra Riley, an administrative assistant to the secretary of the army. "This regulation establishes responsibilities and updates policy and procedures for carrying out a sentence of death as imposed by general courts-martial or military tribunals." This "little-noticed move," as the Reuters news service described it, is the first public announcement by the military of a policy that it has been quietly implementing for several years-slowly placing soldiers on its version of death row.
While the civilian death penalty is coming under greater scrutiny and several states are considering a moratorium on executions, the U.S. military is gearing up to carry out its first execution since 1961. The death penalty was restored in the U.S. military in 1984, but it is only recently that death sentences for American soldiers related to the war in Iraq have been imposed. In March 2005, Sgt. Hasan Akbar was sentenced to death for the "fragging" death of two officers in Kuwait on the eve of the Iraq War in March 2003. National Guard Sgt. Alberto Martinez also faces a possible death sentence in another fragging case stemming from the death of two officers in Iraq in June 2005."
There are currently 8 GI on Death Row at Levinworth.

Ed
